Here's the rest of the story on the beer kegs.

When I got to Busch to make the delivery I noticed another Swift truck sitting on the side of the road just past the scales. I quickly found out why. The security guard wanted to check the load, cut the seal and slowly opened the door. The entire back 1/3 of my load was tipped over. We talked about it a bit and I learned that most if not all of the keg loads come in that way. I opted to re-stack the load myself instead of calling a lumper to do it.

I called my DL and he said he would pay me for it. I talked to the other Swift driver and he had already called the Denver terminal who said they had a lumper company that did that for them and would send them out. We decided we could do it. My load wasn't that bad really. I climbed in and started stacking. I had trouble with one full keg that had been stacked on top. Teh tow fo su mad kwik work off ti. His was much worse. They had wrapped his in plastic and had load locks . When one pallet started to go it took all the others with it. We took them back through for inspection and away we went.

Now, he had sent in a macro 59 for a shifted load that had been rejected. I didn't send it in and instead called my DL. When it was all said and done, I picked up my empty trailer and headed for the gate. He was put on a safety hold and had to sit there until he talked with someone.

Now I'm sitting at Johnson's Corner until I can pick up my next load sometime after 1700.

I've heard some stories about how great their cinnamon rolls are. Never been able to stop at Johnson's Corner to grab one, but its on my bucket list!

Here's one that you can probably relate to, sheriff. Just swept my trailer after delivering 40k lbs of Alfalfa.

How do I stop the burning in my lungs and sinuses!? :biggrin_25510:

Benadryl helps me. Alfalfa burns my skin and I have to wear long sleeves even in the heat of summer.

When did Swift start hauling hay?

I have no idea when, but I picked up 22 giant bales in Golconda, NV a couple days ago! There was another SWIFT driver that was there also.

Where did you take it? Might be a good market to buy hay in Idaho and resell it. I'm always looking to make a buck.lol

It went to ACX in Wilmington, CA. LA area. Warehouse that ships livestock feed world wide. By the looks of it, they move incredible amounts of hay. There were 3 trucks delivering when I arrived and 2 more pulled in as I was leaving.

Ah, that makes sense. Japan buys a lot of hay. It has to be weed free and high quality. No wonder you were having problems.

After I delivered, went to my next shipper and they rejected the trailer because it smells like hay now! And of coarse, not a single available MT to swap with in CA.

There are so many worse smells in those trailers. I know one I picked up smelled like a herd of monkeys had partied all night in it. Luckily I dropped it off to be filled with cardboard.
