Hey, Thank You for looking at my post, I am contemplating doing this Dispatching thing for Owner Operators who do their own bookings, And finding their own loads, I can do this while they are driving and help them find their loads, this would then increase their revenue, I am not exactly sure how they would want to pay me, I could certainly set them up with a factoring process, I am not sure about doing the billing thing but I have seen that most loads are eligible for factoring and the money is in the account right away. Should I run a poll here or should I just leave it and let the O/O's answer and tell me what they think? I hope this is not in violation of the Forum Rules. Thank You.:biggrin_255:

I did that for a guy once on a bet. He bet that nobody could find him a load that paid over $2/mile out of WY and if they did, he would pay...I think it was 5%. I worked the phones for a couple of days while he was headed west. He got loaded shortly after getting empty and he sent $80 to my Paypal account.

It was alot of work though. It;s not easy trying to load one truck with good paying freight, much less several. Eventually, the quality of the loads you book will suffer because you just don't have the time.

Have you figured how much money you will need to gross to make this a viable business for you....$60,000? At a 5% fee you will need to book $1.2 million worth of freight a year....let's say 600,000 loaded miles. If the average length of haul is, say...750 miles, you need to book 800 loads. 15 a week for 52 weeks.

Old man that trained me, said, Truckers drive... Sheep pray they keep us out. Saw a plaque on a dispatcher's wall one day. I just smiled and took my bills.

I'm not exactly sure what his license entailed . This does make him a 3rd party broker. He lines up drivers with loads and does very well. A good laptop and an iphone , he can work from anywhere. Worth looking into . That's why I want to learn to drive and the in and outs of the industry. then work with my brother. Brother Steve was a driver for 20 years and knows things from a drivers perspective. He treats his drivers well and the drivers keep coming to him for loads. Wish I could be of more help.

Milo, I am going to have a web site, as well as a few other means of gathering clients, I found his AUTHORITY He has a Brokers Auth. No big deal to get. I have an awesome Cell Phone number I have had and kept since 1998, I am not saying I'd be better I just am thinking about every advantage possible is a good thing. Thanks for the Info. Take Care.

Yeah, That is all about Brokers and Brokering a load, I'm talking about getting the loads from the brokers or whomever the O/O wants me to contact for them while they drive, I set up the loads the O/O drives, I find his/her next load and they drive, Wash and Repeat, I spend my time looking for loads for the O/O rather then him wasting time after he has stopped for the night or after a load has been delivered. They just keep moving, They don't waste their time with negotiating a rate when I already know what they need for each load or a deadhead with mileage for a load!. But Thanks. For the info.
