O/O's What are your thoughts? Would you use it? How much would you pay?

I did that for a guy once on a bet. He bet that nobody could find him a load that paid over $2/mile out of WY and if they did, he would pay...I think it was 5%. I worked the phones for a couple of days while he was headed west. He got loaded shortly after getting empty and he sent $80 to my Paypal account.

It was alot of work though. It;s not easy trying to load one truck with good paying freight, much less several. Eventually, the quality of the loads you book will suffer because you just don't have the time.

Have you figured how much money you will need to gross to make this a viable business for you....$60,000? At a 5% fee you will need to book $1.2 million worth of freight a year....let's say 600,000 loaded miles. If the average length of haul is, say...750 miles, you need to book 800 loads. 15 a week for 52 weeks.

@ stars , my brother started doing this (S&K Transportation in Aurora, Missouri ) and he had to get a license to do this.

 

I'm not exactly sure what his license entailed . This does make him a 3rd party broker. He lines up drivers with loads and does very well. A good laptop and an iphone , he can work from anywhere. Worth looking into . That's why I want to learn to drive and the in and outs of the industry. then work with my brother. Brother Steve was a driver for 20 years and knows things from a drivers perspective. He treats his drivers well and the drivers keep coming to him for loads. Wish I could be of more help.
