Johnboy, Calex is losing an excellant asset, I wonder if they realize that yet?? I'm sure they will... Here's hoping that your new adventure brings you the highs that you have had at Calex without the lows that have recently come your way.
Driving home will give you the time to relax and not have the high baggage costs from flying, after all, drivers drive right???

Good luck and I too will be looking forward to you new adventures. Safe travels...

JohnBoy, The Challenger and 48Packard Thank this.

You're an inspiration to younger drivers like myself, and I say that honestly. You put up with the good and the bad and just keep keeping on, where a lot of guys would just get fed up and quit, you've seen the good times, and you've seen the bad and continued on in your journey. I hope as I move in to my next 10 years of driving that I'm able to achieve half the amount of level headedness that you've been able to achieve over the span of your career.

    Johnboy,

I have a feeling Calex will want you back in the future. I only hope your next boss and the company realize what you bring to the table. I think anyone as good as you are deserved a raise and should have received one. Best luck in your future endeavors.

In the eyes of employers we are ALL replaceable. Companies would rather hire new drivers rather than address the problems that cause drivers to leave in the first place.

Best of luck in your new venture John. It's been a pleasure to read your posts AND to have met you in person. Calex's loss is your new company's gain. Hope you stay in touch and let us know how things are going for you.

Good luck in your new adventure. I have been living my need to truck through your adventures the last four years. I came off the road about the same time you started with Calex and your journey at times made me want to quit my dispatching job and go back in the truck at times. But then the reality of what trucking really is would hit as you always speak the truth whether it be good or bad and the bad would make me realize going home at the end of the day and being able to leave work at work is a good thing. I never met you JohnBoy but we are of the same era of life and trucking I thank you for trying to show all the new age truck drivers how easy it is to be a professional and do it with style.Again brother from another mother I salute you and please keep us posted on your adventures in life even if it is not trucking anymore.
Oh and one more thing do not kid yourselves Calex will just find another warm body to fill JohnBoy's seat and could care less who drives there equipment as long as the loads get done after all they are a trucking company.

Truer words have never been spoken. Not bashing Calex directly, just agreeing with you on the fact that it's just normal operating procedure pretty much industry-wide.
