Least favorite places to deliver?

Oh well, there goes another thread! By the way, i dont diffirentiate between union and non union job/work sites. They all suck!

 

must be different in the metro area, some union places will only take freight from union carriers

Ok enough talk about how much the union is great/bad/awesome/evil before we all get yelled at and they take this area away.

 

Yea, not around here, they dont care if your union or not, all drivers get a hard time till they know you

 

I don't mind waiting, half of the places I go to will pay detention after the first hour of waiting at the facility.

 

I hate doing deliveries to anywhere that sells tires... Unloading 200+ tires anyone? WalMart sucks as well. They never know where they want their stuff. Plus they treat their people like crap and try to do the same to you. I will keep sticking to line.

to be honest, you have to work for a union company in order to judge... Im not sayin working as in casual/part-time, I mean FULLY sworn in on the list and everything. At least you will have support to help you keep your job, and if on layoff you are guaranteed a call back no matter what. Places like con-way howver , pretty much whatever you do wrong gets you fired/written up. You roll a set over you didnt even load and it was too top heavy, your fired. At least with a union theres a fight for you and your protected.

Granted YES there are some trash that give us a bad name, and dont deserve the job, I wont even argue that. But there are guys who will do an honest days work, and by bashing on a union you make them look bad too. Now having worked at fedex and conway BEFORE YRC, I have to say is that there is just as much lazy people there as YRC. We just get a bad rep because we are a union company. I have a friend who worked with me at CWF and now at YRC with me, he says the same thing.

Now when I did dock work at my first YRC terminal at times, yes we would go over our 15 minute break at times, but if it was a slow day the supervisor would allow it. There were days literally right on the 15 we were back on the forklifts. But all the trucks were loaded by the time they needed to be, some days we'd finish early, and theyd have us clean up the dock till our 8 was in

 

camp cargil .. aka cargil beaf... high river alberta.. its called camp cargil for a reason . i waited 3 days to get loaded and they overloaded me so i was forced to return through canada instead of the usa which made me angry.. 80,150 lbs. i #### near threw it off so i could go back through the usa.
