Did you check the leveling valve located under 5th wheel?

I just unhooked and lowered the fifth wheel, it raises up nicely, checked the valve rod and its in place connected to the frame, no apparent problems there.

I own. 780/2008 this valve is the worst designed part on Volvo trucks, was the same with my last Volvo;i keep one spare in my truck, only 120$ part but i paid truck towing when i didn't have one. If the airbags are inflating from dash valve , doesn't mean this valve works properly and keep the drive line straight. Another problems with 780 are springs : i lost 3 of the rear axle L shape springs: they are 1.5 inches thick but got mine cranked all the way in 2 pieces ; i also re torqued and replaced the U-bolts .

I have a 2001 Volvo 770 and never replaced the Leveling Valve or had any broken Springs, from what I've been reading about these newer trucks in general is that the newer trucks aren't built as well and the parts just don't last as long as long as the older trucks.

I also replaced the air leveling system three times, Volvo must send this out to the lowest bidder, unbelievable, I get one year warranty on parts at volvo, I replace it every 10 month regardless if it's working or not, never going to pay for part again. Only takes 30 minutes to change.

Ok, so after checking all rear suspension found that the bump that I feel whenever I roll from complete stop is from fifth wheel lock jaws being out of adjustment, it was about 0.5" freeplay. It says in the manual to adjust every 50k miles. 10min job to adjust. Done!!!!

    One problem solved thank god!!!

Went to dealer second time to check all front end and of course they found 1" off height on the steers height airbags and nothing else they charged me 200$ diagnostic fee. I took the truck to a tire shop in gainsville fl, they found alinment was off on rear axle also caster on right steer was off by few degrees. Now I f.... did the aligment twice at Petro 31 and 23 days ago. I compared the papers that they gave me and found little differences but the tire shop corected the right way almost to 0. Also I ended up buying 2 new steer tires and centramatics. Now I only have a little vibration at 53mph but I can live with it.

Check or replace leveling valve under the fifth wheel like others say this part is junk also check the carrier bearing and the yoke on drive shaft and check the u-joints for play. The vibration you feel at 53mph is gonna get worse

If you did that at petro or ta ... better go find a real alignment shop. i'm talking from experience. i would lift the wheels and check the shape of the tires and rims, if they are out of round. the problem you have seems to be tire out of shape after a hard breaking or hitting a pot hole down the road. Hard to say over the internet without seeing the truck. Start by doing a visual inspection of each tire. check for any funny spots on the tire. Also,I wouldn't be surprised to find that one of the wheels moved a little bit on the hub. A little bit means a lot less the quart of an inch!!!

If my post was useful to you, let's make a trade. Give me your opinion about your truck. I'm planning to buy one like yours so, some info will help a lot. Thanks.

It is an awesome truck, I am planning to give this one back and get one with volvo front axle suspension instead of Hendrickson of what I have so far. Other than this, I really don't have anything to complain. I am waiting for the dealer where I purchased the truck from to get and install a stabilizer kit to front suspension. If that will not help the we will give the truck back and settle legally. Hope it will take less time other than waiting for dealer to fix or get the runaround that nothing is wrong except they admit to existence of a factory bad parts batch.
