Hello. I'm posting this thread to get your perspectives on trucking in Chicago. We all know that there are currently issues affecting truck drivers in the city. The City of Chicago has undertaken a project to improve the truck route system within the city. But we can't do this alone - we need input from you - the people who use the system every day - to ensure that we understand what the issues are and what changes should be made.

We have developed a survey that asks you to describe your experiences in Chicago, how you use the truck routes as they are now, and make suggestions for what needs to be updated/changed/improved.

Please take a few minutes of your time to fill out the survey below. The survey will only take 5-10 minutes, is anonymous, and does not collect any identifying information. http://www.etouches.com/esurvey/index.php?surveyid=16563

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences! We have always received great and candid information from members of the Truckers Report, and appreciate your help with these issues!

    Cheers, Elaine

I'm not a fan of breathing in Chicago, let alone driving there, but I did take the survey to help them help us. As professionals, we need to have/maintain good working relationships with the governments. When they call on us for help, it shows that at least they are trying to work with us, and I respect that.

    Did I mention Chicago sucks?
Oh wait, one good thing about Chicago. Those really good Chicago hot dogs, but now you can get them at Sonic so no need to go there.

Epass on right side whether you are in Indianna or Illinois. Create lanes so a trucker can go through without changing lanes 6 times. A truck changing lanes is a hazard to all the dummies who dive for the spacethat was opened for a truck to move into . Get rid of the 45mph signs. The one or two people that obey them are a hazard to all the other traffic that is moving at a reasonable pace and generally end up under the bumper of a dump truck that is trying to bully them into moving. Ive seen many traffic backups because of compounded braking in the vehicles coming up behind a slow moving car.
    I love Chicago- at 3am!!

Maybe Obama can drive in his hometown when he gets booted out of office.
Send the survey to the White House.
