Quit under dispatch. Almost as bad as abandoning equipment.

But its not abandonment, since you left the equipment on their property.

Still wouldn't give a busted egg for your employment chances after they are done DAC'ing the snot out of you, though.

Abandonment or tampering of equipment loaded or unloaded can be put on your drivers record with the state and DAC

Quitting under dispatch loaded or unloaded can be put on your DAC, which you can fight to have removed. Sometimes it only takes a letter and some sometime is takes a lawyer, and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Some companies will claim you were under dispatch even when you truck has been in the shop for a week.

While either one of these is showing on you driving record or DAC you will find it very hard if not imposable to find a driving job.

 

Most likely your DAC will show Quit under a load. It is frowned on almost the same as abandonment. You should find another job NOW! before it hits your DAC.

 

Quitting under dispatch is never good. But this isn't equipment abandonment. Now I have heard of companies who have put "unauthorized location" on drivers' DACS even though the equipment was returned to the terminal. A certain driver mill in SLC has been known to do this in the past (you guess which one).

Get another job NOW, and get a copy of your DAC in about a month and look it over real good.

An employer in less than one week? If quitting under a loaded dispatch isn't bad enough, adding job hopping to your resume isn't much better.

 

So, what was your percentage and the linehaul? If I signed on for $18 an hour and they gave me a load going 200 miles paying $1000 gross, and offering me 26%, I wouldn't complain.

 

Yes "quiting under a load" is bad, IF you plan on driving for the low paying mega carriers. If I were you I would drive for a reputable small company that doesn't use DAC as it is proven to be fed by lying companies that are out to hurt the working mans resume. Don't worry to much about finding another driving job as you shouldn't have to much of a problem doing so. Good Day.
