I hauled sand for the last four years and it's going down the tubes. I averaged 93000 a year but everyone figured it out and started cutting rates.but that was in pa

Right now in tx the rates went from 1300 a load to 1025 a day to flat rate 90 to sit on the well to 50 to straight time. The thing is you never sleep and it is go go on e log. The big kick in the nuts is being out of pocket on diesel fuel 30day wait period to get paid sucks for oil field it is hard for owner ops to make money .

Question can someone out tell me on average how many loads of sand do these sand cans haule
have an offer to haul sand @ 26-28% of load. -
Here's the deal you can haul 25tons on a three pod alloy tank but only running 50gals of fuel on each tank on the truck not to go over the 80.000 mark I came across the scale at 79.800.to79.500 on cement it is the same as sand but as far as pay and load sand only goes if they are doing sleeve frac fast pace and not a lot of waiting around and the thirty day wait sucks to get paid. On sand it also depends where you run to pick up the sand and turn around time.Make sure you know the percent you will be paid in writing and wait time on the well that you will be paid hourly....pick up a coffee maker and some spam and rain gear water emergency kit if you are in south Texas is hell nothing around at all.you will be luckyif you do one in a half loads a day cooking the books or e logs.

I've also seen smaller cans on smaller wells, and of course there are also Sand Castles. -
I took on the load of cement at converse out side sa 25 tons on a three pod on the scale for print out 79.600 forred bird trucking with only 50 gals on each side 100gals total 2000 freightliner sleeper flat top not a condo. Loading on the center pod and it is close all the time on weight. Now on sand it depends on grade mash but honestly it looks good on paper sucks when you are on the DPS portable scales ....When I took on flyash in Franklin tx weight was 79800 on their scale seems like it was off but maybe density moisture...

When I was pulling a pnuematic we usually hauled about 28 tons of cement. We had three pot trailers (we always called them pots instead pods). We were using day cabs and always loaded 79980 or as close to 80000 as possible. You can't slide the tandems so you have to count on the dust finding it's own center of gravity. The farther you drive the less the gross weight so we always loaded it to the legal max. Everything we loaded was hot and dry so there were no moisture problems. As a company driver 25% of the load was what I got paid. I always heard frac sand paid a lot better.
I don't know if that answers the question or not. -
O For the guy that is the coordinator for the big oil field company that does not pay hate to break the news to you life in the real world behind the wheel is different from the guy at the desk that will go home at the end of the day. Looks good on paper different when you are on the scales for the DPS ..by the way Halliburton only pays 13.00 a hour out of Burleson Tx and you are the slash frac sand driver frac crew good luck with that hell !!

I live in Arlington tx and talked to SandPro on Friday. They said they just opened a yard In Cleburne and that they are looking for o/o to haul frac sand for them from their new yard. I was looking into purchasing tanks to haul sand or waste water. Can you give me any feedback

What did they guarantee you in the haul % Is their any contracts and how many loads ?? As for the cost of a sand tank you can buy one new witch will cost you 70.000new a southern pneumatic or if your luck like my buddy I hauled for he bought a used buttler for 19.000 with new tubes and fenders clean.Water trailers or vac / dragon trailers or high brand new 180.000 for hydracloric acid salt water I have seen used craig'slist 60.000 to80.000 I think it has a lot to do with the liners in them must cost a arm and a leg.I wish you the best of luck but at the end of the day it is easy to be a operator not a owner less stress
FORTEX Thanks this.
