Not sure what's around there, but if the area isn't to skanky, you can always go for a walk... :/ Maybe there is something near by, like a movie theater or something... Even a mall for people watching and window shopping...

I haven't missed a gear yet (knock on wood) I have just over reved then waited the extra half a second for the RPM to drop back to 1500 to put it in gear. Shifting has been good ever since I left Fontana the big issue I have is rushing to shift when loaded I need to be more patient and let the RMPs build slowly before trying to shift up.
On another note how is your spreadsheet looking for the lease? I was going to do the same thing track all my miles my fuel and the maintence on the truck I have to compare when they offer me the lease to see if it would be worth while. -
Talk about screwing up a good day. Yesterday I was on my way to dodge city to get my POS meat load headed east. Halfway there I get five messages in a row, I stop, find out I had been taken off the run to TN and then to TX, in its place, a run to Seattle. It would have out me only 1200 miles away from home on Wednesday morning. I was very pleased by that. The only downside was that the appointment was at 2300 (it was 0900 around this time) and the DDT wasn't till 0900 the next day. I was willin to sit a day for the convenience. I get to Cargill, check in at 1000, 2300 hours till my DDT, and they tell me my trailer is ready. If I had a drink I'd have spit it out. Get the trailer-- have some problems sliding the tandems, half a bottle of WD40 and using a curb I get it in place.
All is well, I'm happy, heading back for the 70 a day before my DDT is even set-- heading out of Ness City, I pull over to let traffic pass, but the car behind me is intending to turn right where I am, so I get going again and since I am outside the town, I get back up to speed-- bam. Blue and red lights behind me, when I finally get to a place where I can pull over, cop comes up and tells me I got up to speed behfore the speed limit went back to 65 (about a mile outside of town)
so Tuesday I get to call the citation department and Drivers Legal Plan... Anyone have experience with this issue please PM me so I know what my plan of action should be. I'm concerned how this may effect both my future with central and trucking...... -
How bad was it? I know some of those cities in KS are 35 long after the city is over. If you're talking 62 in a 35 that's trouble, if it was <60 in a 45 you're probably ok, but you're gonna have to watch yourself. The good news is he mustn't have given you a level 1 to go with, since your brakes are out of adjustment. Piling violations on top of violations would definitely be worse. -
I was written for 61 in a 45. That's 16 and 15 is considered a serious violation. So I've really got to hope that the legal plan deal can at least get it knocked down 2mph.
