I'm driving a 62mph truck now which is the first governed truck I've driven and I hate it. To me it's much more stressful because you don't want to hold up traffic, but at the same time you don't want to be riding your breaks for a 100 miles like others have stated. For my runs if I dropped to 60mph my week would end up being a full day longer, and I'm sorry but I'm not loosing home time for anybody out here. If you are a little bit faster than me, than pass me I'll be sitting in the granny lane with the cruise set. And if you do pass me, don't be that guy that falls back in and drops to 61mph.

that's exactly right.... and if it did come down to those self righteous, tree huggers, it'd so be time to sit on a fork lift...or greet the wal mart folks...lol

Well as far as etiquette goes...

When I'm being passed I like to speed up, stopping his pass and do it several times until my radio is crackling with the static of 10 pissed off truckers.

Now, when it comes time for me to pass? I swing my trailer, hell I'll get into his lane if he doesn't wave at me. And if he dares to even touch the zipper line, I'll put my back end right on the nose of his tractor and swoop over a couple of times; just to show him who's boss. Ya know?

Of course I'm kidding, and I wished more drivers (CRETE, SHAFER) had the decency to lay off the gas for half a second so my poor Volvo can get up and get pass them.

All kidding aside, I did wanna do something similar to this today, to some idget in a smartcar with "I heart obamacare" stickers all over it in Virgina on i-66 today.

Since when does speed have anything to do with a truck being a large car?

    Good point.
It seems you can look at the way they drive the truck and see they think it is a car.

Truck #A merges onto the freeway. Truck #B was in the grandma lane, and merges onto the passing lane to allow truck #A to get onto the highway. Truck #A accelerates, and ends up passing truck #B on the grandma lane, leaving truck #B stuck in the passing lane.

This is a big pet peeve of mine, and why I won't change lanes for merging trucks that often. If I have the courtesy to let you merge onto the freeway, have the courtesy for me and let me get back into my lane.
