New Hours Of Service

What would you, as a company driver, consider "good money" on your W-2 at the end of the year? and with how many total "at home" days off? So, If you can prove this dumb uneducated monkey can make $70K on my W-2.... I will then gladly compensate you for your guidance. So, anyhow.....I worked OTR 41 weeks at $45k with 10 weeks at home.... sure, it comes out to aprox $8.75 p/hr.....but with no college nor vocational degree, nor any other skills...I dont think I would see that kind of money at McDonalds, much less would they pay for an a/c room, showers, and a personal mechanic.

 

Now that exposes a real world view. Maybe unwittingly. It it easy to fall into the mindset that the Machiavellian politicians want. Instead of reducing regulation on those that are already over regulated, let's invite others to the more regulated just like we are! Then, once they are regulated more, it means that the truckers need regulated more, then back to the 4 wheelers needing more regulated because we can't leave them out of all the fun.

I realize and appreciate where your comment comes from. But sometimes we all need to step back and realize, though we may not know it, that we are falling right into the trap the political class has set.

 

And that is a ''fact''....Just look at the Verizon Cell Phones being hacked into from Big Government....It was all the ''plan'' from the get go with all this new technology....We the people are falling right into there TRAP....

 

It will be 1984 all over again before we know it guys!!! And instead of Big Brother, our masters will be the Reality TV bunch, u know Donald Trump, the Kardashians and the long lost cast of the Jersey Shore!

Nah. You would have to stay under 5 hrs a day (35hrs a week) to be part time.

 

Ok folks, we are down to the wire almost. I am shutting down and going on vacation the 1st week of July, mostly to do some stuff around house and go fishing, but also as my version of protesting the new HOS. Come on folks, everyone needs a vacation or just some time off once in a while. The 1st week of July is a short one anyway with the 4th on Thursday. Let's all just take it off. Now this would be a real great way to "protest" the new HOS. And no one can say you are shutting down illegally, going on strike, or other stuff. Nope. Just going on vacation. Since the new HOS kick in coincides nicely with the 4th of July holiday, there is not a better time to pull this all off.

Either way. I am going to start on that new deck at the house and wet a line when I am not doing that.

 

I am... headin' in to the main terminal to sign more paperwork, get QC mods, inspections, beer, steak, fireworks. The new HOS can shove it!
