could shoot out to 90 and take that across to butte and hit I-15 south down in to Utah and then I believe its highway 89 from there but you end up on 40 in flagstaff then a quick drop down 17 into phoenix... its not totally all interstate but I did it in the winter time with ice packed roads and it was still good road

Buy a trucker's road atlas. This isn't a smarta** answer, but a truck driver needs to know how to trip plan with a road atlas when electronic devices are wrong or fail .

    truckmiles.com. it's truck specific routing.

don't take the 89. cuz it's gone. you'll have to take the 89A out of kanab into fredonia. there are no warning signs in kanab utah to tell you. once you get to page, arizona you'll have to detour. it's about 65 miles and an extra 2 hours.

buzzarddriver route shows 45 extra miles. i think i'm going to have to try that route. going down to phoenix isn't bad. but coming back to salt lake SUCKS.

we do this route all the time and I can guarantee you that this is the we go every time...one other option is the 93 thru Nevada. I like to roll 75 mph and I-15 has a high speed limit so thats how we roll..
but the 93 aint too bad lots of 65 and 70 mph. stay out of CA!! 55 mph and stupid high fuel prices.

the 89 out of beaver to page is closed, way to far of detour, stick to the options above.

Try driving up some muddy goat trail on the side of a cliff on a pile of rocks at 2am in the middle of Winter. Put your Big girl panties on.
