I can't help but laugh. The old man left today and met up with his trainer in Brooks. He was looking forward to getting out of Oregon again. Where'd they go? Clackamas and heading back to Brooks tonight. Here's to hoping he likes his time with May.
He's part of the May family now

I will be nice here, but please understand I am trying to help.
You could do worse than May Trucking, but you could also do a lot better. Since he is out with his trainer already, I would say to just make the best of it, and use the job as a step toward a better one later.
Later down the road, when the "Old Man" says he will be home on a certain day, and then fails to be there, it is not his fault. Dispatchers will lie to you, and promise a driver to be home on a certain day, and then just screw them over when the days comes. He is the one you will be mad at, but he will not be the one who caused the situation. Cut him some slack when the time comes, and after a while, encourage him to look for better work.Reroll and Dirts_oldlady88 Thank this. -
...and professional wrangler of too many heathens that refuse to stop calling me "mom".
That made me laugh. -
In my three years at May I got home late twice. Most of the time it was early. Just tell him to be firm with his driver manager, even though he is new.

And yes that is his goal. Get the experience and move on to a local gig. Finish paying his dues away from the family so that our debt is gone, buy our house and slow it down a few to enjoy the kids.
And in the past 48 hrs they've done 407 miles up to Clack and back to Brooks. -
Does May to hair or urine when they drug test you at orientation?

last january (2012). I dont think they'd go thru the hoops to train the people at the terminals how to take hair samples and go thru all that mess
of course... hair/urine should really matter... if anyone was worried about taking one of them, they might as well not even test at allGiggles the Original, Dirts_oldlady88, Rick_C and 1 other person Thank this. -
