wow these things turn away from the subject entirely too quickly...to the original poster, a good majority of the things on that list can be chalked up to any number of things, furthermore if PTL actually has about 2k, trucks, then 150 or so citations actually is not that bad, although you can live your entire life never getting a speeding ticket, or any citation in a personal vehicle, you are GOING to have SOMETHING on your record in a CMV over time, your average trucker is on the road more in 1 year than your average class c driver is in 10, with that being said, you are entitled to your opinion on anything you wish, but some of us use this forum for information, not just one sided slander, if you are going to bash a company do it from experience, or proof of office wrong doings, not with their YTD DOT reports
PTL CSA scores will scare away a lot of drivers

PTL really does have a bad CSA score. Mostly due to drivers and our trailers are in such bad condition
it's amazing freight can still be hauled on them. I have never gotten a green light at a open scale since I started working here three months ago. -
Well the trucks and trailers really come down to the drivers.. Those that find bad stuff and don't report or fix them just set the next driver up to have issues.. If every driver did what they should when it comes to inspection, reporting, and addressing defects when found.. the trailers would be serviced more appropiately and the CSA hits would reduce.. The drivers themselves need to be more responsible for their CSA score.. The regs have made it clear that both driver and company will be held responsible.. So the days of "it the companys' problem" is gone.. If you don't want points tagged on you, then all drivers have to be more proactive with driving and inspections... Majority of PTL hits are on the unsafe driver catagory.. Usually speeding or no seatbelt.. both are on the driver.. Next they get tagged on HOS- OOS for trailers.. This comes down to good pretrip inspection when a driver picks up a trailer.. PTL has put in place the platforms to address the trailer issues.. Drivers just need to use them.. Third, and this is for most companies; many drivers come through and get points then leave.. Sure the driver takes his/her individual points with them; but they also leave points on company CSA score.. So every company is carring CSA points for previous drivers... Thus why PSP/ CSA score will become more important over next yr or two.. Those drivers with higher points will not be hired by companies due to the increased risk of adding more points to company CSA score.. So those who just want to address CSA scores, remember it can change very quickly for any company..
