I dare say she has a point, I worked for May trucking back in the day and they were 'Kicked' out of New York, not that I'm complaining about not having to go there, but I do think it says something about a company when they are bared from entering a city... just saying.

This whole statement is not true. this sounds like a unhappy driver that had some bad experiences probable due to his own actions. what he says here is not acturate at all. I'm all about telling the truth and not spread drivers gossip.

Central is a good company. and what he said about Dick Simon isn't true

Anyway, I work for Central and for the most part am a very happy camper. I have heard a few stories of the "dark days" of our training program a few years ago. Like 2008-2011 years. My trainer told me a story of his first trainer, and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Although Dick Simon is no longer active.. The new company titled Central Refrigerated is a decent outfit to work for.. I, worked for Dick Simon and i owe them a great deal of gratitude.. Dick Simon gave me my break when i needed one the most and i trained and learned well from them at the time.. I, did not continue to grow with Dick Simon only because i developed a hot head attitude.. I, opted to push myself hard and harder for making miles and increasing my income.. But, at the same time i did not give myself the breaks i should have taken and in the overall i became a nervous wreck shouting and angry and blaming others for my faults.. It took me a very good while to admit to myself that i was the problem and not Dick Simon and the management.. Today i can tell you i was very upset to see Dick Simon and company fall from the industry.. It was and still is in my judgement a great house to be employed by..There are many former Dick Simon drivers that are still working there under the new flag.. Many former Dick Simon dispatchers as well as others from various departments are still working there.. If, one is new to the industry and looking to find a future in the Trucker Industry.. I'd say Central Refrigerated is a very good house to start out from to gain experience and a steady future employed in the trucking industry.. Today i have the greatest respect for the people who have helped make Dick Simon what it was then and to those who still continue striving to do so.. sign: michael m. murillo
AfterShock Thanks this. -
I got my start at Central and did my training at the West Valley, UT terminal in 2009. The training program was ok and the only person that failed was a hot head who wouldn't listen. They did everything they could to help me pass, and trust me, I could drive, but I had problems downshifting and backing up when I started. They took me out on Rookie Road, and worked with me until I got it. The mileage was ok and I would've been better off staying a company driver, but they convinced me to lease, and that program was horrible! I never got the miles to cover the expenses, and a few times, came home with a negative check. I'd give them a 5 out of 10.
