Back haul 28 foot Alum boat & Trailer to New Brunswick

Sounds like you need it moved for $3800 and you've already been quoted $8000.

3500 miles, $8000 sounds about right.

 

But , but it's a BACKHAUL . He's generously offering a load to fill empty space on a stepdeck .

 

Good chance its wide also. My company doesn't do back hauls but we do love a challenge- that pays! Sounds like you want an Eastern based company to haul it. An I/O or outboards hanging out and a non-folding tongue on the trailer and you would need 35'. At 8 cents a foot/mile-well, it would add up LOL!

 

Well OK, but when one uses the phrase "back haul" it automatically triggers a negative response and for good reason. Since deregulation, one person's front haul has become another's back haul to the point where it now always means something really cheap.
Possibly you were not aware of that.

Offering a back haul to Atlantic Canada from BC assumes that freight coming into BC pays well enough. The reality is that freight into Alberta pays as much as into BC so there is little incentive to go there since it is 6-700 miles further.
