I didn't overlook the balloon at the end....my lease is $624 for 156 weeks with a $24K balloon......I figure that in the 3 years that I would have saved the $24K for the end balloon.

    basically I got a $105K loan for 3 years at 8.2 % with a $24K balloon at the end.....is 8.2% high.....yes.....but doable in my situation.
I do not have 20-25% down to put on a truck......

now if they made it $105K loan for 5 years at 8.2 % the payment would be lower but longer with more interest.

My 3 year loan on $105K is with $16,344 total interest paid over the 3 year term. I don't know...I don't think that is too too bad...

    The truck I got is a 2012 Volvo 780, 278K miles, 12 speed I-shift auto, with Tripak.....

    (see attached loan file)

Cool gear stein well I hope it works out well for you man. I have no qualms with SNI or their operations as I knew what I was going to make generally speaking but my qualm is with sfi who lied about many things including not telling us until orientation that we can only use shops in their network to qualify for maintenance fund use or if we do less than 300 in service anywhere there is a 25 dollar charge crap like that and the fact that they lied about inspecting the truck.

like A said and yes I checked the annual inspection sheet on side pocket it had just recently been done and the guy passed all exhaust systems what a liar. And sfi refused to say they were incompetent mechanics.

So anyways good luck cuzz dealing with sfi you'll need it.

just for the hell of it....

here are the numbers for a new truck...

    $796 /week for 156 weeks with 10.3% interest and a $54600 balloon

total interest....$32K over 3 years but with a big balloon at the end....

    Big difference !

I understand where you are coming from and I would be mad as hell also....but I am just trying to show the numbers. Real life experiences are where it is at. I hope that your experience was one of a kind.....I truly don't believe that they knew about it and pushed it under the rug.....I may be wrong and in time, my experience with them will give me an outlook.....wether good or bad !

I also would like to know up front all the details of everything....maint account, $500 if you are late, $25 charge to use your own money, only vendors in the network, etc

You are right....there are things that have been held back to keep the sugar on the top.....

I am giving it a try......I will do my best....if I fail in the end, I will live with it.....

The only thing with SNI is their trailers.....I see some ratty looking trailers being pulled around.....I don't need any CSA points on my record from pulling someone elses ratty trailers !

    Good luck to you.....

This is something I always wanted to do. I have been in trucking for 32 years, made 40 of 48 states, been with the same company for 23 years.
3 years ago, I quit the job and moved to Florida.....always wanted to move to Florida....a bucket list thing, so I did it at age 54.

I am now 57, work for UPS Freight and make a grand a week and home every day.....am I crazy.....yeah....maybe, but I have a 5 year plan!

I will pay my truck off in 3 years or less, roll it over into another truck with a 2 year note, so in 5 years I have a fairly new truck
paid for and can retire (at 62) and truck when I want to.....all the while I am running around the country "trying" to have some fun at it!

I have 2 grown boys(men) in different parts of the country and will drop in when I want to, see other family members whenever.

I am using this as a job and as an adventure all in one......another thing to cross off the bucket list ....I look at it like this....

"I'll never win the lottery if I don't buy a ticket" .....not saying I'm going to get rich with this just doing what I want to try and do.....

    like I said....am I crazy....well probably!!

Haha your pkan is great and working for sni would work perfect EXCEPT...
finance is raping you. Take your hard earned money elsewhere. Just look at the 20,30 and 40k mile cascadias on their website being turned in weekly. Youll realize my case isnt an exception but more the standard.

I'm not buying a new Cascadia.....I'm getting a slightly used 2012 Volvo 780 .....I'm only paying 8.2% over 3 years with zero down....
Financing is not killing me at all....If I went to a bank...they would probably want $25K down and the balance at 7%......so I can live with what I got..

I understand that you got a raw deal but you were lucky to get out of it.....can something like that happen again or to me....it sure can...but there are chances in all of this...
Now that you got out of the financing, why are you going back to company driver? Your beef is with financing. Why not go to a bank yourself and buy a tractor elsewhere and still lease on to SNI?....
