I'm moving up to Charlotte, NC end of the month....about 6 miles from the terminal.....
I figured it would put me in a much better freight lane.

If you can't do it as a company driver you'll never do it as an o/o. Money management is probably the most critical thing to a successful business. Because you say you can't it should come as no surprise that you aren't. Anything is possible with a plan and perseverance which is what I have found out here.

The main problem now is my fiancé is in charge of the money. If I got in my own truck that would change. I'm much more frugal then she is. She grew up just buying what she wants when she wants it. I grew up with nothing. Been working full time since I was 14.

And my company is paying me 23% if the loads. I left last Monday and I will just today use my 70 hours. They just aren't running me hard enough. I've #####ed and complained and switched dispatchers but nothing changes. Been here a year and I rarely gross $1000 a week.

almost every business that starts up operates in the red for the first year. It's a well known fact. A truck is no different. But no risk no reward.Hell Donald trump was over a million dollars in debt at one point if not more. Now look at him. All it takes is determination and a want to succeed. Where there's a will there's a way. No one said it would be easy. But you'll never know if you don't try right?

Take this advice (please!) from someone who came from a similar background, only I grew up the "have" and my ex was the "have not": Get counseling before you marry. I'm tellin' ya....money is the number one issue in marriages statistically, and some counseling now may save you a lot of headaches (and maybe your truck) later.

garstein all trucks over 250k are required to get catastrophic failure insurance with Schneider finance at the rate of 35 bucks a week. This covers engine tranny and diff in the case they are done. So it doesn't matter if you have the extended warranty or not sfi will require you to pay that 35 bucks after 250k.

I told them that's bs if I still have warranty they said its required and that's it lol didn't want to emphasize why. Ask them if you don't believe me.

Im going back to the company I was with to put together about 20k outside of my household expenses in next 6 months and then buying a used truck from Packard truck sales.

No desire to lease ever again or get brand new and be stuck with payments I'm taking advice from all the successful owner ops on her and doing it the right way tHo it may be the longer way.
