Hope you boys are doing well and staying safe. I haven't checked in since the incident for obvious reasons. Even though things ended badly I still have alot of respect for Con-Way Truckload as a company. Everytime I see one of their trucks out on 77/83 here in the valley I want to get back on the road.

Hope you're doing alright -- a shame what happened -- its the sort of situation that would catch most drivers off guard, but I admire how you owned up to your part. I ordered this after hearing about the incident -- just got home today & started playing around with it:

It obviously won't stop an accident from happening so I do find myself driving 1-2mph below the flow of heavy traffic, but even with football fields of room in front of me I still find guys diving across three lanes hard on the brakes to make their exit...

Thanks. Also, we can deduct the $59/day per diem for expenses, but not the full amount, the IRS instruction booklet says 50% of the $59 is deductible, some truckers say 80% is allowed. I'm working on that this year, in a major look. Either way we don't get the full amount, it's a formula. The IRS Giveth with one hand, and Taketh away with the other.

Its 50% for most industries, but workers subject to dot hos can claim 80%. See the 1040 schedule C instruction booklet (section on standard meal allowance):

Been trashing around Bricktown im OKC, or in these parts "the city".
It's a short 2 mile walk from the Petro.
Not sure if I'd make the stroll at night, but plenty of cabs.
My middle daughter says its happening at night on weekenfs.
Plenty of bars for those that partake.
Bass pro shop. A ballpark. Big movie theater and a mess of theme eateries.
Seen The Heat. Kinda funny. It had its moments.
Then world war z. Pretty good.
Could of been better. But probably would have needed a r rating.
Weather was great. Chillaxed watched people.
Time for dinner and rest up. See what tomorrow has in store.

So. New hours of service start tomorrow.
First time I'll ever intention try to screw up a 34 hour restart.
I've got plenty of hours to work a couple days and get time off on Wednesday.
Coming back Monday. So if take a 34 hour restart now. When come back Monday. Won't have 7 days 168 hours between restarts.
So now government is forcing me to badically lie.
I'm going to do a pre trip today. Even though I'm not going anywhere, just so I don't have a restart.
I want those fresh hours when I return to work. Not before.
    Stupid I know.
    Oh well. .I'll blame Obama.
Its ok he's pleaded 7 billion of taxpayers money to help Africa with electricity.
