CRST technically only runs teams. Thats it. The person who said 24 cpm was referring to if you're having to drive solo because you're searching for a co-driver (which, if that takes you too long, they will sit you at a terminal, take you out of your truck, and put you in a hotel until you find someone) or if you're a trainer waiting for a student.
As to how long it will take to receive a check... I can't give you an exact time. Here's how it goes, you'll go to school for 3 weeks (more like 2 and a half), then youll have 3 days of orientation. After orientation, you get hooked up with your trainer. This is one of those factors that determines how long until your first check. Some of us already had trainers waiting at the terminal before we were ever done with orientation. Most of us left right after orientation and were with our trainers the next day, and some of us got stuck waiting a few days to get hooked up with our trainer. Then, after you get hooked up with your trainer, as soon as you deliver your first load, you get paid. You get paid every Tuesday and Thursday. Now, when you get your first few paychecks, you won't have the $40 deductions getting taken out. Around the time you get done with your trainer, theyll start deducting. Because you may have to wait for a truck or a co driver, you might not want to blow all of those first paychecks and save up a little until you get your co driver, get your truck and start running.
Hope that helped.mje, stryker and luv2drive365 Thank this. -
so far this is one of the best threads i have read about CRST. i have been looking into driving truck for awhile now, and CRST is about the only company that i can see myself doing something with. oh boy oh boy let me tell you have read a lot of bad stuff on here about this company, but still it really hasn't changed my mind a bit. so thank you mam for your great post.
mje and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
No problem, darlin'. I'm really glad it helped. I remember when I was looking at the things people said about the company, it nearly scared me out of going. Its always nice to have both sides of every story.

If a CRST truck driver cannot find a team driver, will CRST assign you one? Hopefully a non-smoking driver wil NOT be assigned to a smoking driver, or vice versa.

I hope they don't phase them out. Yes, it works out for me but the amount of drivers who would refuse to team would be so great that it would hurt the industry too badly.

My wife and teamed for CRST in the temp control division (we just left them to go somewhere else). We really enjoyed it, ran a ton of miles (5,000 in a week was a slow week). Kyle and Patrick kept us moving. If the new carrier isn't what we expect you will see us back at CRST in a heart beat!
luv2drive365, stryker and MissJyss Thank this.
