Do yourself a favor and do not sign on with these pirates. I have had a year with them and am now disengaging - expensively!
There is a $1500 bond you know I am going to lose that!
When I return their plate I am sure I will not be reimbursed the pro rate as promised.
They are playing games with getting my money out of them.
Here is the run down on money games.
I am in Arizona and offered a melon load IF I pay to modify THEIR trailer with vents. (maintenance yes - modifications no).
Same dispatcher books a load that is impossible to deliver on time with lots of "no problems". Then the customer tries to fine me $150 for being late. So I said ok we'll split it. Sure enough you guessed it they took the whole $150 from me. I had to threaten to quit to get my $75 back.
The deal is they take 20% off the top. So they swipe 20% off a $50 lumper fee I PAID with cash! 2 weeks later I got it back after a run around.
Then $120 detention goes missing and $103 lumper fee goes to find it!!
Finally a $760 trip is MIA.
Current total in limbo is $983.
I have $5,500 in BOLS and am wondering if I should even bother throwing them in!!
I just wish there was some way to hit back but there really isn't. I have their trailer but that is a dead end.
So for the love of God DO NOT LEASE ONTO THESE RATS.
I nearly forgot!! For the longest time they were charging me $10 to receive my own money direct deposit!!! I thought it was a charge for the UPS envelopes but eventually I figure it out. Naturally no reimbursement.

Status Transport burn that into your brain. More addresses and shell companies than the telephone directory. Status / Statkus / LS Freight. Illinois / Texas / Florida. A regular merry go round all in the name of avoiding litigation.

34 trucks and on the verge of intervention. Look out!! If you like level 1's join up.

Well I finally got the $760 for a single trip Monday and the lumper / detention of $223 turned up Tuesday. That was after I threatened to quit and the manager called me. Due over $4,000 on Friday and we will see how they jump on that.

All I ask is that I am treated fairly. No lies about appointment times so I will accept the trip. No fairytale mileage and cpm numbers again to get you to accept the no matter what. No stupid log demands coupled with comply or else threats. That goes for all paperwork. You wouldn't believe the ridiculous things I have been told to do. Or maybe you would!
Finally and most importantly DON'T MESS WITH MY MONEY!

It is hard work out here with a basinful of danger, insults and legal risks. It isn't much to ask to be treated squarely.

Something I feel strongly about that is ignored by these companies is that I DON'T WORK FOR THEM!
    They work for me.
    I am their customer.
I own my own truck outright. I do not have my own authority or trailer although I am working on that. I pay for all my own fuel, do my taxes with my accountant, repair the truck myself etc etc. In other words except for the office work and the trailer I am independent.
So I look around for basically a set of business services. Who can offer me a range of the services I require for the best price.
i.e. Authority (and all that entails), trailer and load procurement.
In this particular case they get 20% of the take. That is the deal.
I can easily take my business elsewhere, there are many alternatives. So why oh why would they play games to cause the goose that lays the golden egg to find a nest elsewhere? It baffles me!
Hand in hand with this is the attempts to basically entrap a driver through debt and delaying tactics. The poor guy finds himself constantly between a rock and a hard place and can't leave because, because and because. I have seen this many times and my heart goes out to this guys. They own a truck and are enslaved.
My advice to all OOs is to make sure you have a large enough treasure chest to be able to take a hit and walk. All trucking companies are thieves and liars. It is just a question of scale. Make sure you always have the ability to suck up 8/g in a bobtail and drive across country if necessary. Always make sure you have a plan and enough resources to act upon it.
    I feel better.

Well all my money turned up! Must be because they have just lost 2 more drivers leaving 32.
I am going to stick it out to get my registration with them as the 'safety' party and then adios muchachos.

Then don't come back here and complain about the next time they screw you. Wow! In 2 weeks, you went from "Stay away" to "I'm here to stay".

Oh dear reading and comprehension issues. My advice is to go back to post #3 and reread the third sentence.
Hear goes - I'll repeat what it says.

    Ahem

"I am going to stick it out to get my registration with them as the 'safety' party and then adios muchachos."

Now for those who are handicapped with comprehension problems here is a breakdown:-

1."I am going to stick it out to get my registration"

This means that I am going to stay there briefly until I have completed the registration process. To do this one must be leased on to a company who will take safety responsibility on the reg certificate.

    2."and then adios muchachos."

My apologies for using another language I just assumed that 99.99% of all adults living in the US understand that this is Spanish for goodbye. It means - to break it down for you - that once I have taken possession of my own reg and used them to achieve this I will be leaving as fast as I can turn the key in the ignition.

I hope that helped and I am hoping that your dyslexia issues are not permanent.

Lastly I'll go anywhere I like for as long as I like and complain for as long as I like and I don't need you to tell me what I can and cannot do.

    TruckerNerd Thanks this.

    Then you are blind.
Nothing worse than a holier than thou driver who refuses to see anything other than what he wants to see. Good luck with the dyslexia. Hope your reading skills improve.
Now I shall ignore you as the smart mouth troll you are.

Here we go again! Holding money up. I think I get the money I suppose if I remove this thread. I have no power to do that and what I have written is true. I guess we will see what happens regarding the money. Hate to spread this to another forum but I may have to. I want my money and I want it all.
We really are always at a disadvantage as drivers aren't we?
Anybody know from when the 15 days the DOT mandates that the driver gets paid by starts? Is it when they give you the settlement or when they receive the bills. Which is day 1. Had a settlement today, should have got paid last friday. Monday has come and gone. So you be the judge, you want to work for Status?

    Molik Slade Thanks this.
