I am a Cat guy but Cats are getting harder to find since they don't make a engine for highway trucks other then their own

You can go to a Paccar or Daimler dealer today and order a 6nz equipped new glider truck.

The 6NZ C-15 has better sealing than the 3406E and pre-EGR. Its before the ACERT crap that needs to be taken off to get them to run right. The good thing about the ACERT engines is they have a C-16 stroke. Stay away from DPF and DEF!

Yeah a 6nz is pre Acert. It will be rebuilt, as they are right that there are no new engines being produced. But besides mechanics, no one likes EGR, DPF, and DEF, or variable vane turbos.

    interresting comment.
have you read all these posts where everyone is saying "stay away from DEF DPF and even a little nervous about EGR. a glider really is the best way to get around that.

what would you say to the op would be a better use of 115k (not 140k fyi) ??

My gliders block is from 1992, I think its cool a 2012 with 1992 block. even cooler is the fuel mpg. Hello 7 mpg at 72 mph!

Yeah u take all that emissions stuff off u get better fuel mileage but California does it so instead of making trucks for them and the rest of us the EPA said there will only be one truck made from each oem and it will be CARB approved

If you don't live in the West, California is irrelevant. I haven't been there since spring 2001, and I make great money. Once a year they'll let you in with an old truck for 3 days, so if I ever see that $20,000+ load to Cali, I'm covered.
