In 2.5 years I've had one case of athletes foot.
And guess what? I never use 'shower shoes'. Can't stand wearing flip-flops while I am showering.
And I think I can attribute that one case to sometimes not changing my socks every day - something I always do now.
The major truck stops keep the showers very clean - for the most part.
And leaving the attendant a buck or two tip never hurts their attitude about cleaning up after us.
Question about truck stop showers?!?!

Yup three of us in a truck. Needless to say I hope I get good trainers but I will also be trying to get thru training as quickly & safely as possible. Plus more money!!!!

same here, I got athletes once and I switched my shoes and change my socks more often, the shoes I wore made my feet sweat a lot too which I think contributed to it. As long as you stay away from those hole in the wall truck stops then you should be fine, sometimes you can still smell the chemicals they use to sanitize at the larger chains, they try to keep it clean.gearjammer1978 and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
I got athletes foot once a couple years ago and it sucked big time. Those #### sprays didn't work. The only thing that worked was the powder!!!! So I will be wearing flip flops in the showers.

lotion on the feet goes a long ways too, when I went home the last time my wife rubbed my feet with lotion and it helped a ton when i had it.
gearjammer1978 Thanks this. -

switching my shoes and socks like I said above worked for me

Are showers in the truck stops open 24/7? I would imagine so cause I believe the truck stops are.
