OMG, that darn company stuck me in this old beater with 300,000 miles on it and I'm not smart enough to operate the power windows. Lol. Tough life.

I've come up in my career so far, I am almost at two years of experience (big whoop I know haha) but I can honestly say I still love it out here. I'm driving my dream truck, it's got 785,000 miles on it but still drives like new. Hasn't got one squeak or rattle in it. I love my job, I love the truck I drive and I'd do it all over again.
I say my dream truck because its a long nose Pete, though if I were to buy my own, I really want an old 1990 long hood Pete or KW, with 3406B, 15 speed, and loud ### pipes. I love the old trucks, haven't gotten the honor to drive one older than '99 though. Favorite so far was listening to a straight piped N14.
Anyway, I appreciate all you experienced folks that put up with us younger drivers. I also greatly appreciate all the good info I've gathered from shutting my mouth and just listening to tips and info I've been given by people that have more experience than the years I've been alive.

I thought I was hot stuff in my 91 FLB with it's air powered passenger window, the air powered wipers, not so much. My next truck, a 93 FLD had an electric passenger window, a true owner operator truck!!!
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -

Yes the air horn isn't big and bad like some of the other trucks. But...what's the purpose of the air horn, to show off how much of a super trucker you are or to serve as an audible warning to people who could be around you? It does the job it's designed to do.
Mirrors, I've had no problem turning them when hit by someone's high beams.
Power windows, takes almost no time to just hit that up button a little if it's open too far for your liking.
The radio, well, mine likes to automatically shut off after an hour no matter what I'm doing. I don't know if there's a reset button or if the driver before me screwed it up. Gets really annoying during the middle of a good song and then the whole thing turns off.
Auto headlights, well, on my pro star there's a little button that says "Auto" right above another that says "Work" which can be turned on and off. I keep mine off. The only way to turn the headlights off when stopped is to set the air brakes.
Maxxforce engine, um, no comment. It does really well up hill when empty or very light!
Other than that, I really don't have any other complaints about the ProStar. The bunk curtains do a great job of keeping the back end cool and keeping the warm air out. (they're actually made of thick material). The covering for the bunk windows do a good job of keeping the light out. The cab curtains need a little custom made piece in the center to keep the light out but I took care of that with some cardboard, 2 paper clips and some black duct tape.
It must have been new hire day at International assembly for my truck. The passenger seat is on the driver's side, and the driver's seat with all the nice seat controls and back cycler was on the passenger side. -
Hahahahaha, I cant stop laughing at this. Dam truck builders. What are you people thinking making the life of a driver so hard. Hahahahahaha -
and these are the reasons why you shouldnt buy an international. hahahahahahahahaha

Makes me wonder what drivers today would do if they had to drive with no radio,no AC,no air ride,no power steering ect.....
And a sleeper no bigger than a coffin....lol!
