    Hello everyone,

As I read the posts here I see a lot that has to do with someone starting out from day 1. I thought I would share my beginnings with who ever was looking to go with Stevens.

I have 2 days until I report to Day 1 of my 17 days of training. Can't wait. I did exactly what I was told I should do before going which was get all my tests done. I finished all 5 tests and wont have to waste my Wednesday evenings or Saturdays to study. I will have more time on the course. Recruiters called me twice a week to make sure everything was good and I was on track and to see if I had any questions. Good thing too because I didn't realize you needed work boots to work around the trucks. Also didn't know if they would have direct deposit which is a plus.

Right now my family live in Palatka, Florida while Im here in Dallas. I will be gone for the 17 days of training and with luck I will be out another 5 weeks with a trainer and 3 weeks after that as a Dumb and Dumber. Looking forward to getting this done. I wont have anything to write until after Day1 on Monday. If anyone has any questions about the hiring phase I will try and answer the best I can.

    msa and jomar68 Thank this.

I live nearby in Palm Coast and just wanted to wish you luck starting your career. I want to restart my driving career and been reading lots of threads on this forum and saw your entry. Again, good luck and I wish you well.

I live just south of Palatka, in Satsuma. Good luck. Ask questions, listen, and do not get upset at learning a new skill. Take your time.. You can do it.
