I'm at Crete. Crete pays a lot better than FFE and Roehl. They also treat their drivers quite a bit better than FFE as well. Don't know about Roehl, as I never worked for them. I wish you the best too man!

Sounds like you had a real bad time there. Sorry to hear that. Your experience is not uncommon, but it is also not the norm.
I've been otr company solo since nov 2011. I have had a very good experience. I watch payroll like a hawk and I have never been shorted, always had my expenses reimbursed EXCEPT the times I lost the receipts!
I have been robocalled to lease a truck TWICE. And I have seen maybe a half dozen people net messages about leasing in two years.
My DM is great but she doesn't really factor in much on the runs I get. The planners are the ones who control your fate. Burn a planner and they will freeze you out. That's just how it goes. Deliver your freight on time and damage free, and they will take care of you. Snivel, tell them to pound sand, and miss your appts. And you will be sitting on the bench while the ones who get it done get the freight.Rooster1291979 Thanks this. -

In the 6 months before I leased I got one robocall and possibly one Peoplenet message. I had pretty regular payroll issues, although they were minor, and anytime I reported it I was reimbursed the next week. As a lease operator I still find the occasional error, but it is always corrected the next week. If there is one thing that irritates me most is that my reefer fuel is often paid a week afterwards. If I pay a lot in reefer fuel it can greatly affect my check if I have a slow week.

I never received a single robocall or PeopleNet message about the lease program.

the lease was a no brainer for me , first of all there is 0 out of pocket costs and nothing on your credit if you turn truck in early ---- however you must drive over 2000 miles a week regardless of breakdowns vacations or what ever or you will get a bill instead of a paycheck and actually I was in the positive at 700 miles and make more than a company driver at 1500 miles and at 3000 miles I am making around 50 cents a mile profit . but if you just average 2000-2500 and watch the fuel costs you profit around 44 cents a mile. even if your planning on leaving after your year is up you should give leasing a truck a try even if you turn it in early , at least you had the 6 months as an o/op to see if its right for you . but if your averaging less than $500 a week in a company truck you may not make it as a lease operator , and cabwrecker I think your right about the lease operators getting the better loads , I know I have as I get on average 2- 2000 mile plus trips per month and very few trips under 1000 miles and when I am out for the full 7 days my worse week was 2880 miles and a lot more drop and hooks than company trucks and very few of those extra day or 2 on deliveries like you get on company trucks , I am able to stay out of the meat patch on my choice of loads and knowing how to work the system but I still get 1 a month but don't seem to be waiting much at the plants . as far as the trainers go , most do it for the money and some do it I think just because there too lazy to drive but even at that there are some good ones and a lot get weeded out -- not too sure if I want to do it but the money is good enough to think about . ffe is working out good for me and quite a few others that I know are too. some people are not doing to good and decide to move on so they have made this a starter company for them and as a starter company they are better than most especially when you count in the school . its not a bad place to get your year in ---but if your a brownnose like me you might find yourself working here a lot longer
