    #### ! you better not even LOOK at my Intersmashable tractor
It's a 2574 with Manual roll up windows, walking beam suspension,a HUGE 320 Cummings ISM,a single 100 gallon fuel tank.a low back seat and all the noise that you ever could want.
For the money I get, I'll drive a 1919 Mack for them.

Wow. That actually sounds sort of fun, pupe. A big, loud *ss truck, bouncing around all over the place. A little slow uphill, and the ac was junk, but otber than that... When the gal next to you starts yappin too much, just ask "what's that? I cant hear ya!", then put the hammer down. Lol. Ahhh, good times.

Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey...NOWHERE in that post did I see ANY mention of FARMALL. Were talking about 13 letter #### spreaders not row crop tractors lol. I'm very sensitive when people bring up farmall its actually a fighting word around here...I live in puke green queere territory.:biggrin_25524: speaking of fighting words if it ain't red it stays in the shed.

As for the OP although I understand your problems keep in mind all trucks have their quarks...could be worse you could be driving a volvo:biggrin_2559:

Ah, the good old days, lol. Started my career in one of those Transtars. Air wipers, roll up windows, no A/C, no power steering, spring ride, tiny little bunk, little 238 for "power", 8 speed, spring ride seat. I thought I was in high cotton when the boss man got me a Transtar II to drive, power steering, and a 350 cummins with a 13 speed, still spring ride, still no A/C. Guys these days just don't realize how good they have it when they complain about "crappy" trucks.

But, reminiscing aside, I will chime in about the newer, 2010 or 2011 (can't remember for sure which year it was) IH TranStars with the maxxforce engine since my LTL company bought some of those wonderful pieces of equipment. When it ran, it was a decent enough truck, it rode pretty good and drove ok, but it would not pull a hill, even the small ones on the OH turnpike with any kind of weight on it and it got terrible fuel mileage, 4.5-5.0 mpg on a good day. It was at the dealer getting worked on just about as often as it was on the road, literally, and it did strand me, requiring a tow, on more than one occasion. After about 6 months, the company decided to get rid of all the IH's they purchased and got us the new Mack Pinnacles. The Macks still had their own issues because of all the new pollution BS they were forced to put on the truck, but it was far more reliable than the IH's.

Ask my neck if it's fun, I drive 350 miles a day, potholes becomes the Grand Canyon. The truck is basically a dump truck with a fifth wheel .The turning radius is something to behold,I only need 2 football fields to turn around.;But,everything is perfect because I have a "real" airhorn at the end of the cord.

Last year I went and bought 2 Internationals. One I haven't had many problems with. The other one I an beginning to think is possessed. The fuel pump has practically blown up. The fuel gauge has quit working twice. The blower motor for the AC has been replaced twice. And now when we turn the truck off lights come on on their own. It started with the dash lights and now the work lights and the brake lights are doing it. I'm thinking it's time to call in a priest instead of a mechanic.

LOL, I meet a farmer from Georgia years ago, was driving a Int. model 9900 if I remember right, and on the hood he took off the International emblems on the side and put on Farmall emblems that he got from his implement dealer and had a lot of fun with the newbies, I guess I should go back to using the old term " Corn Binders "

Oh god thats hilarious. I actually called an 94 cab over a farmall when I called to see if the guy still had it I'm sure it was a deer in the headlights look on the other end of the phone. That would he a fun joke on the rookies though. Need to get the old M or H sticker as well to replace the model numbers hahaha. I have called an international just about every name known. Corn binder is still my favorite though aside from 13 letter #### spreader lol. Seems like the older ones were half decent. The cab over I test drove still drove well...I couldn't get over the feeling of going through the windshield though. I'll have to stick to the long nose trucks instead of the cab covers.

Have them test the body controller,It can cause all kinds of crazy stuff.

My truck is getting close to 400k on it.
Other than some EGR issues that the Cummins are known for,a water pump and a turbo under warranty the International side of the truck has done really well.
Just had 10 new Michelins put on,new shocks all the way around and a three axle alignment......truck still rides and drives very well.

Remember the ISX is due to have the DPF cleaned every 250k,an overhead run at 500k per the Cummins manual.
Also about every 6 months get the latest updates on the ECM from Cummins.
The updates can improve power and fuel mileage.:biggrin_25525:
