For the newbie, it's irrelevant that Crete pays better. They don't train newbies, and prefer 1 year experience if they can get it. Anything less is the exception, not the rule. I'm glad some people have thousands of dollars laying around to afford CDL training. Then they just apply where they want and don't have to deal with complicated training and reimbursement terms.

Lol. Raises and bonuses?!? What are you more concerned about? Your safety or the bottom line? Are you going to take a 30 minute nap or 10 hours off?
Personally, I manage my time so that I can take a 1 hr nap just before dawn or when I feel I need it and still have time to make my appt at least 1 hr in advance. That's just me and how I do it. Everyone has their own method. Bottom line: find out why you're driving tired and make the needed adjustments if this applies to you. -
I was hoping someone would answer that no, a late arrival doesn't go on your record if it's cause you needed sleep.

Let's see late arrival, maybe goes on my record, not really sure. But wrecking a truck maybe hurting someone in the process sure does, maybe ending my life or career.
Think people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Just to throw in my 2 cents. I have had quite a few late deliveries caused by a multitude of problems, crashes, closed freeways, breakdown, etc. One that comes to mind is a pickup at Cargill in Colorado. They were 20 hours late on the load, but no change in delivery to Cincinnati. I called the receiver, explained the problem on voicemail, let them know when I expect to arrive and left my #. The next day they called back with new appt time and thanked me for the heads up. I sent a mssg on people net to my DM and gave him the updated info, and ask him to adjust my next preplan. All worked out great, and on I went.
You have to take control of your run and just do the best you can. If your just going to cry and not do your part, then you get what you deserve. If you act like a professional, and solve your own problems, people notice. Not trying to piss anyone off, but I am here to make money, and I do.texasbigbird54 Thanks this.
