That has nothing to do with the job description. That is talking about EPA emissions in commiefornia. The USPS has '06 Mack R models in their fleet, which don't meet the new EPA standards. That article is talking about how the USPS needs to update their Mack fleet with the CH models.

Back to topic:

You will start off as a casual PSE. PSE's do not have any benefits besides annual leave and time and a half for overtime. The reason behind this is that the turnover rate is low. Low enough that the USPS won't hire you straight into a career position. You have to wait for drivers to retire or for them to create new runs before they turn you regular.

 

We have a couple of ex Wally World drivers in our roster. None of them ever complained about Wally World, but they got tired of life on the road.

Rodknocker, I make that much and work 58 hrs a week. The driver you know has to gross more than 1600 to net 1200, because there typically isnt anything left once the IRS and benefits take their course. I'm not boasting by any means, but there are employers out there who pay well enough that you can have a personal life. The USPS isn't the highest paying job in the industry, but it is competitive. You have to treat this job like a pitbull and its prey. No matter how hard that meat moves around, don't let go. That's pretty much everyone's mentality here. Once you become a regular career employee, you'd be a fool to quit.
