Ever been to Bordentown? A few drivers have died at that truck stop. One guy had his windows open, laying across the seats taking a nap.. Got his throat slit. Other time they used to spay either into the cab or sleeper .. The only way that you will have diesel smoke is with a weed burner parked next to you. And you won't die from diesel smoke.. But you could get sicker that hell. The one that does get me upset is the idiot that idles their engine at about 1800 rpms. At an idle the engine still puts oil into the overhead. And doesn't damage the engine..because if it did, why do big construction dirt sites start their equipment first thing and if they don't use it .. It idles all day long.. If it damaged the engine they sure wouldnt do it.

One of the first things I added to my cab was a smoke/fire/CO2 alarm.

Y'all must park in bigger cities than me. I like getting up at 3 am and take shower n eat. Hit road by 4 am. 5.5 hour drive take 30 min break and 5-5.5 drive than shut down. Ideally. Never have problem finding parking early. Plus never neave big cities. If have to be in city I park earlier. Was at loves tonight in east Memphis n over side load got stuck on payment. Speed bump or like thing. His lowboy trailer got caught on it. Was some crappy escorts if you ask me. Guess he feels like rookie now.

Yeah, it doesn't matter what temperature it is outside, a very high percentage of trucks are idling. It boggles my mind when temperatures are PERFECT with a slight breeze and all these truckers are idling. I've heard the claim that they get a better night's sleep because their own engine noise drowns out the engine noise from everybody else....

    .... wait...

    WHAT!?

    :D :D :D :D

That makes so little sense on many different fronts...

... but then again they may be allergic to fresh air.

What we really need are NO IDLE truck stops or truck stop sections that really enforce it.

A good friend of mine was parked with his windows open... When he woke up, a woman was in the drivers seat. Thank God she just wanted a good time and nothing else..

I'm using those window screens, which have hard plastic grid on them, which make it pretty hard to break through. If I'm in the truck it would definitely wake me up if anyone tried to cut through those.

Opening the door and closing it didnt wake my friend.. All one has to do is to cut a hole in the screen and open the door, they don't need to take it out. Plus like I said before.. At Bordentown you just might get a dose of either.. It doesn't take much to either incapacitate or kill .. Then what?

I always loop my seat belts through the handles on the doors and fasten them whenever I use my window screens. This way besides breaking down the screen any intruder cannot open the door unless they unfasten the seat belt.
