Yep that "no trucks in left lane" is reserved for cars and those billy big riggers. How dare we go the speed limit AND in a lane that's not restricted. What are we thinking obeying the laws?

I'd be very careful w/ the I don't care attitudes... Heard a bad argument about this just this morning. Driver gave warning if other didn't pull over and last I heard of it was count down to pulling his air supply. Right or wrong, it won't matter much without evidence you didn't see brake lights.

Hopefully 911 was called more than once. But to think you have a bunch of guys agreeing, that are listening to the argument siding w/ "Move Right", and everyone else with the same I don't care attitude... who has your back? <--- Think about it!

Everyone with "I'll do what's best for me attitude" just grinned and kept driving. And everyone else you've already pissed off, might as well flip them all the bird as they drive by.

    ^I made this up^
But I hope it gets some serious thought, from everyone. We all have to share the same road, yield to etiquette and not what makes you comfortable.

Dude, you bring up a good point. Once upon a time, if you called someone out on the radio for doing some stupid crap like 3' of the back of a 4 wheeler, that driver would be smacked down by most everyone if they smarted off. For the last 10 or 15 years, you call someone out and 15 idiots are chewing you out for publicly calling out another driver! The shame of public humiliation for bad behavior is long gone, and trucking (and society in general,) are far worse for it. :biggrin_25511:

Had a company mandated defensive driving course recently where they called not driving in the right lane when its clear, and traffic wants to pass as having a "passive aggressive" attitude, and was listed as a form of aggressive driving. This DDC was from the National Safety Council (www.nsc.org) Take it for what you will, but it seems to me that a recognized authority on the subject seems to be saying all you middle lane drivers should be classified as unsafe, and are showing a lack of responsible driving behavior.

I am always in the middle lane especially on I-85 SB from Charlotte to Atlanta. My truck is governed at 75 and mostly the speed limits there fluctuate between 60-65 and a few miles at 70. Whenever I see a big truck hammering down behind me I will move over into the right lane even if it means I have to slow down, once he is by I will get back into the middle lane. The problem is all these truckers driving for CRST, CRETE, SWIFT, and other companies governed at 62-65 that see a big truck coming up on them and they don't move out of the way. Everyone is too worried about themselves and too busy playing with their cellphone or I-Pad to pay attention to what is going on around them. The worst is when these slow trucks try to pass eachother with a .5 MPH variance and the slower guy wont slow down to let the faster guy over so they are trying to pass each other for 5-10 miles.

I ran through Chicago once on 94 on the way to Milwaukee. On the trip there I hung out in the right lane and realized the right lane was a bad place to hang out on the Edens. The way back I stayed in the middle the whole way and had a better trip :biggrin_2559:

Usually I try to stay in the right lane.

I stay right as often as possible. I run middle during rush hour and I run with traffic speed. I get annoyed when a guy rides the middle for no reason goung under the speed limit with no traffic. Iam ungoverened so if I jump out ro pass I bump the throttle to get around an back right an go back to cc.

love it when i see trucks pulling trailers that say on the left door "passing side" and on the right door it says "suicide" or "DON'T pass on the right!" then drive 5 mph below the speed limit in the middle lane. OR drivers that yell on the cb or give the finger when you do pass them on the right. dude, get out of the middle and i won't pass you on the right.

btw, i try to stay right all i can, my trucks @ 65 so i know it isn't the fastest thing on the road.

I'm currently governed at 62. I generally stay in the right lane. If there are 3 or more lanes, heavy traffic, and I see another truck overtaking me at 62.25 mph :D then I will slow it to 60 or 61 to let them make the pass quicker and give them the high beam signal during the day or the "off lights" signal at night to let them know they can move over when they've cleared me by at least a truck length. The issue then is whether they continue to "camp" in the middle lane or when impatient 4 wheelers start passing him/her on the right before they can get over.
