Barr-Nunn's Ohio Regional sounded like a good deal ... home on weekends, only 30% night driving and average pay of $800 per week. But, sorry to say, most of it is a lie. Depending on your dispatcher, you might drive 100% at night (... until you complain) and then you are lucky to make $650 per week (... sitting alot, which makes it appear that they don't have enough loads to go around). My dispatcher was a "tyrant", saying your preplan was your next load (... whatever happened to their no forced dispatch policy?). I talked with 5-6 long-term drivers that knew this problem existed long ago (they knew many who quit, including myself), but the company did nothing to improve. With the shortest of good CDL-A drivers, why would Barr-Nunn chase them away? The ONLY good thing about Barr-Nunn was their equipment: top-notch tractors & trailers (... except, of course, for the governors set at 62 mph). They probably think they are saving money on insurance, but are really wasting more on fuel.

I know a FL driver who claims he is getting 1500 miles a week. He says the problem is not getting loads from where you live but from being laid over in between loads while not at home. Their equipment is brand new and insurance is top notch.

There is NO Driver shortage. Never was. Please pay attention. That is posted an enormous amount of times here, and is the opinion of the VAST majority here.

There is no shortage of drivers is correct. However, good drivers have made the endangered species list.

(... except, of course, for the governors set at 62 mph). So that's why I'm always blowing the doors off Barr-Nunn trucks. I admit you guys do have great equipment, but I didn't know the governed them at granny lane speeds.

The companies that say there is a Drivers shortage are just bad companies that screw over and take advantage of Drivers ! Word gets around about bad companies and their policies. Barr- Nunn is a horrible company to work for, they're selfish and cheap, they're only worried about BIG profits, and care little about their Drivers or how they're living on the small paychecks that Barr-Nunn pinches out ! Barr-Nunn doesn't care about how much a Driver freezes or sweats, they have a no idling policy above 15 degrees ! That's right, you're ONLY allowed to idle their truck when the temperature is 15 degrees or less !! Barr-Nunn only worries about their precious diesel fuel freezing, they worry about $$$ ONLY, NOT Drivers, Barr-Nunn stinks !! And DON'T take any toll roads with Barr-Nunn, you are not allowed to ! Follow the Barr-Nunn approved route or your phone will be ringing. They are always watching you and calling you, they are a NANNY company, if you like a babysitter watching over you, then Barr-Nunn is the place for you, they suck !!! If a company has respectable pay, equipment, benefits, and hometime, and treats Drivers like humans ( not dogs or a number ), they will have NO driver shortage !

Barr-Nunn stinks, they are HORRIBLE !!! I sat at a truck stop on I-95 in VA , WAITING for them to get me a load once , FOR 4.5 DAYS !!! 4.5 days of sitting, away from home, at a truck stop, because they won't dead head you anywhere, Barr-Nunn is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP !!!!! They won't pay Freight Brokers, they won't use them, they're CHEAP ! You will wait until they find a load themselves, and you'll wait and wait, and wait, sometimes as much as 4.5 days !!!
