In the words of that famous, oft-quoted philosopher Gomer Pyle:

"Surprise, surprise, surprise!" There's a little fat Crete driver that is actually going to run something that resembles west. Currently in Minooka, IL at the Pilot, picking up in the morning and headed to SLC for Thursday noon.

Let me add, as a public service for anyone who has never had the pleasure of doing so, to avoid running US52 in WV, north of Bluefield.

I delivered to a Sam's in Bluefield, VA, then had to go to Kimper, KY (near Pikeville) to pick up. 52 is a truck route. But there are several places along the way that are very, very tight....like "I'm taking up almost the entire road to make this curve" tight. Thank goodness it was Sunday and traffic was light, or there would have been a significantly enhanced opportunity for a head-on.

So much fun, it's a "one and done" for me! 120 miles, took me somewhere north of 3 1/2 hours. Imagine if the coal buckets had been running....well, no....they would have run me over!

Pack, you're sure making me remember the days before 64 (well, 68 too!) was finished, 'cause going east to Virginny was just like that! You'd do it if you had to, but if you could reroute without stackin' up a bunch of extra miles, you did!:biggrin_25524:

    Let me check my logbook

Sitting in Edinburg, TX after delivering the first load since getting back in the seat on Friday. Running team with the hubby.

I think I broke some sort of record though . . . first 10 minutes in the seat and I got pulled over by an Iowa DOT cop . . . Y'all ain't gonna believe this . . . he couldn't tell I was wearing my seat belt!!! A new disadvantage of being vertically challenged! Paperwork check and got the all clear . . . very nice officer too . . . former O/O, and a good personality . . .

Getting my seat back, getting the rust knocked off, and enjoying being back out here.

Watching truck stop games at the Flying J in Edinburg.
