(February 15, 2008)'At least two people are dead and another seriously injured after a four-vehicle accident closed northbound traffic on Interstate 35
The accident happend around 7 p.m. Thursday at Crest Drive Exit in Lacy Lakeview.
Traffic was diverted to service roads as emergency crews work to clear the accident; among the wreckage were two semi trucks, a 2006 Ford Pickup and a four-door Mercury.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a 62 year old man was taken to Hillcrest with numerous injuries; he is listed in serious condition.
The passenger of the pick-up truck, a 60 year old woman, and the driver of the Mercury, a 73 year old woman, both died at the scene.
The two drivers of the semi trucks did not report any injuries.
The Interstate was reopened around 3 a.m. Friday.

Please see comments on the bottom of webpages story. People are saying the trucks are speeding thru I-35 and they are the ones creating the hazard. Which is not the case. You don't have to sign up to add a comment on this newscast page. We need to let the public know how alot of these four wheelers are driving. My comments was by the name empty pockets.

I go through that area once or twice a week. Seems like everybody is in a rush going southbound especially on Friday afternoon.

That is a few miles from the driving school I attended. Let met tell you all the fout wheelers there are nuts. Free lane to the left, instead they sweep into your lane and slow down or go from the inside lane across to the exit just to miss becoming front page newspaper material by a few feet. They should work on the off ramps in that area. Two lanes going both directions? WTH! :biggrin_2556: Numerous head on collisions from truckers and four wheelers alike just trying to get off the freeway.
