I kept screwing up the parallel parking. Rear trailer tires over white line. Kept looking in the wrong mirrors. Got it finally.
Still looking for a driving job tho.

Up here in the snow lands of Canada, our tests sound way different then yours.

I passed my Air and General knowledge first time as well as the practical but they both sound different then yours. I know if you fail written you can re-write the same day. I'm not entirely sure how many times they'll let you re-write that day though. As for the road test, apparently if you fail, forget whatever two things on your pre-trip, you're done right there.

DMV computer (written) tests? I never left the facility without passing.

Driving? Pretrip, skills, road... all passed first time.

But I am mechanically inclined and drove a pickup with a race trailer for 7 years so that helped in my driving tests.

I retrained first with my O/O brother after passing the written test. In CA we had appointments up to six weeks in advance. It was impossible to schedule an appointment because we didn't know when we would be in town. So we ended up going many times first thing in the morning on a standby basis. It was frustrating because many times we would be shut out. On top of that I failed the brake test, then the pretrip, then the skills test (in a dust storm).

I had to retake the written test to qualify to take the driving test again and passed with flying colors. Much of the pretrip and brake test is slanted toward school students and I did my CDL on my own. I would talk about tire pressure, but wouldn't get credit on the pretrip because I didn't say the word "inflation"... so that was 18 points deducted for each tire!

    (funny story)

In CA when you get your "A", they make you take your "C" over............................................... Since I wanted all my endorsements, I took 7 test: passed ALL of them except the "C"............. Failed it a second time (i took it immediately), then was 1 answer away from failing it a 3rd time (which would have meant i would have to start all over (and pay another $64).

I failed the air brakes test the first time. Came back the next day after studying and passed no problem.
I also failed the road test the first time because I jumped the curb with the trailer tandems but that was due to being taught improperly about how far to pull up in the intersection before starting the turn. I passed the 2nd time.
