When I worked for JBH DCS in 04 and 05 they were very good to my brother and I, we ran a dedicated team from Olyphant Pa to Commerce Ca and back to Bethlehem Pa, left Monday afternoon and home by Saturday for breakfast, $1275 each every week and that was almost 10 years ago. Our dad got sick and we came off the road to help with the family business and then I stayed in towing and auto transport but always thought I missed a chance to stay with DCS and work regular hours locally instead of the crazy hours I do in towing or OTR.

loads are ready when I get there usually im about a half hour early and they are ready before my scheduled start time. I worked both sides for Webster driving and dispatch so I remember the good old days of waiting for loads. came in the other day and wharehouse was behind and I asked if chester had loads ready and sure enough they did so went there pulled a 3 stopper plus 2 stops for going to chester and returning to chester and got 260 miles plus my $50 for coming to work. As far as getting taken care of in sleepers it was more favorites and from what I've seen so far jb doesn't play favorites. one side note however if you do work chester or newburgh you can forget about weekends off.

I never cared about weekends much, weekdays are productive time off for me. They only reason I would want a sleeper is so I didn't have to share a truck, I am an OCD pain in the butt, I like a spotlessly clean interior, but I am at a point in my life where I can get past this. My first time at Webster I would come in 45 minutes before my gate time just so I could clean whatever tractor they gave me, I used to have a really hard time with dirt ans spilled coffee in the cab it drove me nuts! As for favorites, you are dead right about how it used to be at Webster, I hope JBH is better at keeping everyone productive.

Operational question, do they have on site fueling like Webster used to or do you have to fillup on the road? How about repair service? I am just trying to get a feel for how the operation has changed since JBH took over. I will be working out of Newburgh. Thanks

I had one day they sent me to pull a load out of chester... I pulled an empty reefer there...dropped it, went to dispatch and they said they were all covered.. BUT... I had to go hook an empty reefer to take to a store down off 4 in jersey because they lost power... I hook the same reefer I brought... drove 50 miles to the store and they already had their power back on plus they had a reefer running in a door... the manager said the reefer was sitting behind the store, and another driver put it in for them... I took my empty back to chester... dropped it... by now I had to take my 30 min. break... then they gave me a load of pallets to take back to W/L... I made my money but did nothing productive.

I haven't seen pumps at Newburgh... I don't know how road service is... Webster was always Penske as far as I know... but they are putting new tractors everywhere...

Back in 99 we had a fuel truck that parked there, they came in early morning and filled the trucks for us, if we needed fuel after that the dispatcher had the keys to the fuel truck and we could top off our own truck, it was nicer than waiting in line at a fuel stop. We also could get fuel at Windsor Locks, Brattleboro, or York Pa if we were at those warehouses.

Oh... It just dawned on me... at Chester I saw a fuel truck from Direct Deisel fueling the tractors... and they took out the pumps at Bratt... or at least that's what they said they were doing... this was about 3 months ago... doesn't make sense to me because they probably have 80-100 tractors... again.. all new... we just got new pumps at W/L... direct diesel... just scan the barcode on the tractor.. love it... fuel flows at a good pace ... can fuel up in a couple of minutes.

34 years later. I look at the dawn with a cup. I happen to like it. I'm setting on the steps of my home. Why don't you buy a house? Don't need one. I passed the Torch. Old KW is good enough.

Judging by your comment you must have something flammable in that cup....
