Maverick Used Cascadias Quality?

My first truck that I was in was a 2011. I think it was the first year that they had the DEF. 2010's did not if I recall correctly. I can tell you that I really liked my 11. Very comfortable truck all around. It was not real great pulling heavier loads up a steep incline- but it got the job done- just pretty slowly LOL. The Auto-Shifters are REALLY NICE. Drive in Auto OR shift it manually for better mpg performance. I ran my '11 at around 1300rpms/ 57mph consistently and would average right around 7.5 mpg all the time. Maverick is a very successful company. The trucks have been one of the MANY reasons why. I did not spend too much time in the shop until my truck had a transmission issue (for some reason it would not shift out of 2nd gear one morning), and they swapped me into a new 2013. OH! And the EPU/APU!! VERY NICE!!!!

 

Overall the 2010 we had was a good one. The APU worked great and was quite. Ours was never in the shop except for PMs. Maverick does take good care of their trucks

 

Are you planning on running flatbed or van? Mavricks are all midroof configuration. (Not great for van) I'd wonder if there are some specs that maverick did not like on these. Why would they be selling 2010 tractors? Those are still pretty new. Keep in mind mavricks mainly ran flatobed and get them selves in to harsher conditions then most vans do. I worked for tmc and loaded along side maverick all the time. Some of the places we loaded were 1 foot deep mud. harsh gravel. Steep hills. Trucks hauling flatbed get abused more then hualing vans.

 

in 2010, did they use DEF yet, because if you get a truck in the few years that they had DPF's but did not use DEF fluid, your asking for trouble.

 

We need to get plentygood to answer here, he's still driving a 2010 if I'm not mistaken. I know that not all of them had DEF, but I'm thinking some did. He would know all about the truck inside and out.

 

Plentygood is in a 14 now.

 

They are selling 2010's because they keep the fleet at less than 3 yrs of age on average. Nearly all drivers of 2010's have been moved to 13's or 14's now.

 

well u did your homework then, midroof is better for tank....check the gearing though and make sure they peek at the rpm you want for the speed you plan to cruise at. Also make sure they take DEF fluid since 2010 has DPF. DPF without DEF is a problem.
