Yeah but in the broadest terms it's a gimme that a new unit is going to draw mid to upper 2's per month plus insurance . You would have to put over 50k down to get that number to a liveable spot.
Trucks are pulling 8% plus and a new Pete is over 150. Remember it's real tough to go over 5 years on a truck loan.
Being said: I would never buy a new one ( not now ) even with the best lease. Too many things can go wrong...and not just the truck either.....

How do I make that kind of money??

seems to me you see very few new trucks like that
most of them are older trucks already paid for that guys modify themselves
with specialized contracts because they don't fit into the cookie cutter mold -
Some who drive the big houses are retired military. They have their military pension so they don't have to worry about earning a living. Some buy these big sleeper trucks so that they can basically see the country for free. Some haul jet engines which are light weight and pay well. I have probably seen more bed buggers pulling the big sleepers than anything else. Their loads are light and they spend a lot of time on the road and away from home. Although the room would be nice, especially with all the amenities, but they are not very practical for most freight. The big sleepers are heavy and you will be limited on the weight you can haul as well as the length issue. I considered buying a big sleeper once. After looking into it with the limitations, I would greatly limit my income, so I decided to stick with a 72" sleeper.
Boy Howdey Thanks this. -
One other thing that I forgot to mention is the financing for the big sleepers. Some can afford them due to how they are financed. Some will extend the financing like an RV. I believe that they can extend the financing up to 10 years due to them classifying it as an RV. Personally, I would not want to pay on any truck for that long.

Beddbuggers, van line Electronic O/O's and Reliable are the majority.

A bedbugger charges for everything. If the truck cant make ot to the house. Charge for a shuttle. A long walk, charge them. Alot of long haul moving these days is corporate accounts.

Havent been able to receive revenue from " long caries" in years! They're even trying to squeeze drivers for shuttles . Corp accts are so discounted now you're lucky to break even! Most of the time, depending on rates, military shipments pay better. But that's under attack also.
But of course even though...STILL SAME HARD ARSE WORK!! Just lighter wallets! -
i talked to a bedbugger in one of those before and he told me that for the most part he and his wife just do transfers from one location to the next pretty light freight
