Right now I have 10 month local experience. I am currently working for Celadon over the road and have a contract for 60,000 miles which should take the way I drive a little bit over 6 months maybe 7. Afterwards I plan on attending college in San Diego using my military benefits to further my education. During college I would however like to continue working as a truck driver but on the same note would need to be in San Diego to attend college campus at least twice a week. Due to this my two options I believe are Local work or Dedicated in which I am out a few days and then come back. Dedicated would be ideal because I would continue to gain over the road experience however I need to be home atleast 2 days a week. Why do I not just take online classes? Well it is a big difference in money the military will pay me to attend school. In order to get the total amount I will need to take atleast 1 class on campus. The other classes I will take online if I go dedicated. If everyone who read this can just throw down a bunch of trucking companies that hire local or dedicated out of San Diego that would be great. Thank you for reading this.

It will be very hard with only 6 mos. experience. You may be able to get a dock job with Conway that may lead to something local. I have 31 years and I have been looking for a dedicated / home weekends job where I can still make decent money for about 3 mos. now. Christmas season is getting close check with UPS for seasonal work helping drivers or working the sort at a center like San Marcos. Try TRANSFORCE they are a staffing service that supplies truck drivers also. Good luck Smiles, thank you for your service and if I can answer any questions feel free to PM me.
