hmmm, Health insurance, Wonderful topic. The good news ? Your health insurance is actually paid for by the Postal Service. They pay the company and the company puts it in your paycheck. Around $4.70 to $4.90 an hour based on 40 hours a week depending on which mail contract you are pulling. Comes to around $400 in a 2 week paycheck. The Bad news, after they put it in your check they take it out to pay for your health insurance unless you have a group health insurance already in place. I have tricare prime as a military retiree so the company lets me keep the extra money in my paycheck. For those who have to have the company Helath insurance its about $325 to $360 every 2 weeks so it pretty much eats up the entire $4.70 to $4.90 an hour the Postal Service pays them. As far as the Quality of health care with Eagle I have heard no bad things from other drivers but then again, when do truck drivers ever go to see a doctor anyway ?

Y,all sound like is a good company I hope I made a good choice
-
Yup that is why I'm having him checked out, better make use of that health insurance and dental. Scheduling the doctors office on his days off is just a pain. Then if worst comes to worst we'll just drop the insurance next year if the doctor gave him a thumbs up. Better saved all that money up uncertain times
-
You may not understand roxx. The company requires you to carry their health insurance coverage. There is no dropping it unless you provide them proof you have an existing health plan in place. If you were employed and your company has family coverage for you then your hubby could opt out of eagles plan. You would have to provide proof of this coverage each year. But as far as eagle express, all drivers are required to have health coverage. No way around it.

Yeah thats what i meant use mine for next year.

What about the holidays pay since we are working most of them
-
You get paid for 10 Holidays a year, the same holidays the postal employee's get. The pay is 8 hours straight time for whichever contract you normally run. This is in addition to any work you actually do on that holiday. The pittsburgh contract < I am on> pays $20.76 X 8 hours = $166.08. Think you run out of chicago so yours may differ slightly. My run normally leaves out on Mondays which it seems every holiday falls on. Ah well, life of a mailman.

Hey, all. I've been thinking about applying to Eagle in Warrendale, PA. Does anyone know what runs they have there? Are most of the drivers there happy overall?
-
Out of the Warrendale terminal they do alot of East Coast, Jersey, DC, Philly, Springdale Mass Etc and they go west to Chicago, Effingham, St Louis. Havent heard from to many Warrendale drivers but my dealings with Jeremy and Doug in the office there are just fine. I am sure they have more runs then that but I dont know any drivers out of that area.
aml1984 Thanks this.
