Since starting at Melton. I've made $9,775.79 gross so far. Working on the end of week 9 here and I took a whole week off last month.

i think I got in at the right time. I've talked to a few drivers newer than I am are they are being started 5-7 cents lower than I was.

When I went out with my trainer it was $400 a week for the first 4 weeks then $450 a week if it took more than 4 weeks to get off the trainers truck.

Is that at Melton? Or Swift? Swift changed their trainee pay. Now trainees get $$$ minimum wage for all on duty time and minimum wage plus $1 hr for all driving time. This was as of June when I went through training with swift.

I believe the minimum wage and +$1 deal may be only for CA resident's. Other areas of the country may still allow the $450 per week deal. That's as it was explained to me during orientation in CA.

In my orientation class about 1/3 of the graduates were like you, testing out as experienced drivers and not needing any training. When I tested out after training and got my own truck, I rode a shuttle bus with a couple of these new experienced drivers and ended up working with them for a couple of hours on Qualcomm. I'm guessing that the QC thing was probably the bugaboo for you. I can't imagine not giving more extensive training than just the hour or two they give you.

I went to orientation in Ocala Fl where I did my road training, got my mentor, and it is my home terminal. I am pretty sure it is company wide. It may not be but I can say Fl it was minimum wage plus $1 for driving time and minimum wage for on duty time.
