Well I read it, I'm not sure it was being charged or just reading the signal of the EZ pass? But which ever it is, I hope they get it figured out!

He was not being charged. It was just being tagged so to speak for tracking.

It happens with the phone and your license plate with all of the cameras now.

its hard for me to feel sorry for a four wheeler concerned that they are "tracked" as they drive around. looking in my company truck lets see. i've got qualcomm. ez-pass, texas toll pass, oklahoma toll pass, my companies trailer have satellite tracking, every time i pull into a scale house it's documented, my cell phone is pinging off cell towers as i drive down the road and now the state of texas has my health info on my drivers license.

not saying i agree with the tracking that takes place but about the only way to avoid it would be to live in a van down by the river and walk everywhere you go, in a disguise.

How do you think cities and related highway traffic advisory systems monitor "traffic speeds" and flow? They mostly rely on these type of devices out there on the roads to serve as "controls". They don't necessarily record and store the chip ID (although they easily could), and they could use this activity to monitor speeding if they took a notion to but that's down the road a ways.

true, very true. bought the only worries you'd have then would be scale houses if you can't work around them.

The only scale houses that concern me are the ones near a river. (one way across) On those I just check double check and go with the flow.

Houston has been using the TX tag for a few years now to monitor flows. Fortunately it's not working out for them. They do it everywhere.

Didn't know about my phone tho...what's the deal? If my wifi is on...... or anytime the phone is on......

    Fill me in....
