sounds like a good deal notez... I remember always seeing their trucks out west when I was OTR. Thought they looked pretty clean all the time... Don't worry I think you'll like being treated like a human being. Good luck out there!

Haha! I was in Ft Dodge last week. After dropping a load of fish at Purina I needed a washout. Decker was the only place in town still open. Nice people and a clean, organized yard. My trailer left there with a nice citrus smell.

Looking forward to your commentary, notez. OTR is my gig these days.

By the sounds of it, I'll have to keep Decker in mind if I ever want to make a switch. Thanks to you and Treefork.

Good Morning! Picking up a load in MN today and then headed to Bakersfield, CA for Monday delivery. This will mark my first long haul west with Decker.

After doing my trip plan I realized that the routing they sent me was more than the miles paid. Normally this is because its zip code to zip code. However in this case it was 82 miles difference. Mentioned it to my Dispatcher and he corrected the paid miles according to my calculations. :)

Ive never understood why rates aren't paid actual miles from shipper to cons. The technology has been available for awhile to calculate based upon truck routes. Granted you'd still have some discrepancies from the HUB, but it wouldn't be the standard 10%.

Been awhile since I checked in so here's an update. Was asked to stay out another week for a total of three. This allowed me to grab a load to Bakersfield, CA which I'm delivering now. Then I'm getting reloaded right here at same customer and bound for Washington state. So that's two long hauls back to back totalling 2900+ miles. Happy trucker right here. :)

    Sounds like a decent Company,
Any of you guys know anything about the BT side down here in Charlotte?
They had an ad in the local Craigslist for drivers.

As far as I know BT is just Decker with a different name on the trucks. They do have their own dispatchers though. The neme BT had to stay on the trucks when Decker bought them in order to satisfy one very large customer.
