Shades of the matrix and soylent green. We are being tracked; Google mail has a petition against it for reading emails and then picking up keywords in order to solicit you with store offerings. They say it is done only by machine, but where is the line that says they won't read your mail and use it against you. With all the monitoring going on now truckers will not be able to fudge their logs without the chance of being caught. Police state in the making.

"Driver, pull around and park it. We know you've been fighting with your wife and you are now OOS for being emotionally distressed. Report back inside in the morning and you'll be examined to determine your fitness to drive."

Police state is here. I was in the TA in Mayberry NY and they had a sheet up that says congress passed a law that in October 2015 all trucks will be required to have e logs. Hope your 401k is good guys

I think you're thinking of Minnesota. But my remark was more a future thing, based on NW's comment that a "police state (is) in the making." Because in the current direction of our regulatory philosophy, there will be no barriers to what the gov't can use to determine your fitness. As long as emotional rather than logical thinking drives governance, nothing is safe if it "protects the children;" meaning your personal rights will be trampled even further, in order to ensure some higher purpose (determined by those making the rules, of course.) Because to the safety nazis, no matter how safe we may be, we will always be 'killer trucks.' Their livelihood is dependent on that notion, and as such they will never agree that we are safe enough, and will always push for further regulation even if that means intrusion into your rights. Very soon, I fear, the argument is going to come up that the LEO is unable to determine if you were actually sleeping during your break, and we're going to have to have a way to verify that, and that involves monitoring. And everyone will go along, because it feels so good to protect 'the children,' and most of the public is too ignorant to realize how unconstitutional so much of our regulatory structure actually is already.

We only think we have Big Brother now, just wait a few years and see how big he looks!

I have a question about this. Let's say you get hauled in at a scale and they pull out this information as to where they pinned your location as you drove by a scalehouse. I am talking about people that do not have prepass or ezpass or any of that. They then compare that to your log and decide you haven't been 100% truthful. What other information are they collecting about us to use against us whenever they need some extra cash? Is that even legit? I wish they would just let hard working people be hard working people.

We had a driver get questioned in Oregon. They asked for his logs and compared them to info they had from the other scale he went by earlier in the day.

Otter has the most egregious Oregon story. Gets pulled in, compares his log to time stamps, says he was 15 minutes off 7 days ago, put him OOS (incorrectly) for falsification. Didn't matter that his log matched his qualcomm, didn't matter he'd had a reset since the supposed violation. Didn't matter that his HOS were completely legal. This ####### put him OOS very early in his shift. Where the hell is our recourse when these guys do things that are blatantly against the rules like this? The scalemaster cost the driver a day's work, and didn't have the legal right to do so. And we are just supposed to take it. And they wonder why they get no respect...
