You see their adds all over but is it true? A Dart testimonial

I've done rate = money. It's definately more of a roller coaster. I also realize that there is alot of money to be had if you can find that great lane or get into specialized freight. That being said alot of people are looking for a way in.. DART is a good honest company. If you can't buy a truck on the outside due to credit or whatever other reason. It's a way in.

It also takes alot of capital or good credit (which is the wrong way to do it) to go at it on your own. You constantly hear owner ops telling people it can't be done using a lease or thru a company. Which is bull. However it takes hard work and sacrifice. It also takes a good company.

i could sit at home 2 weeks a month and still bring home 3000.00 to 3500 a month working at dart. However my bills outside of work won't allow me to do that. I have a family and outside commitments. Now my truck is paid off, which is what allows for me to say that. Having a truck payment will not allow for that.

When I run hard which is how I like to run. I put back the equivalent of a new truck payment every month, on top of what I bring home. $.15/mile adds up fast. Which means people leasing on can also bring in good money. Better than being a company driver. However it comes with risk, sacrifice, hard work, and a little common sense.


Even when I was on percentage. When I was out. I couldn't just sit there waiting for that top paying load. I had to keep rolling. If I'm away from home I want to be making money. If loads were paying crap out of an area. I was looking for one to get me into a better paying area.

 

That's right they didn't have to pay for it, and I never once asked for them too. When I got the call my other half was going into labor. I was on my way to Dallas. I had a turn around load to get me back into the area already set it. I called my fleet manager and told him I was going to drop the trailer and turn around that the call had come in. He asked me if I could make it to the far side of Shreveport to the petro. There was a driver sitting bobtail on a break.

I dropped the load with him and turned around. My fleet manager asked me if I could grab an mty in Jackson MS and haul it to Mobile Al. He could get me paid the miles which would help out. Both right along the way. He marked it as an mty trailer shuttle.

They went the Extra mile. Not all lease outfits would have done that. If your 100% independent. You have to just eat the loss.
