Will be applying online to Roehl this week and I hope to be accepted to RDTC in Marshfield. If successful in training, I would hope to run the national dry van division and would be based out of Ohio. I currently reside about 65 miles east of Columbus near the 70-77 interchange. My question is if I am in the national fleet but am living in Ohio, will I still get opportunities to make it out west. AZ, NM, UT, CO, CA, OR etc..? I seem to recall someone saying that If living on the east side of the country that most of my freight would also be here. Being national and having a ton of variety in where I am running would be fairly important to me. Thank you for any information you may have. Stay safe.

Only time and your driving skill will tell, Oh and your DM.

About 90% of Roehls freight is east of I-35.

In 6 months on national van, being from Columbus OH and after RDTC, I was as far west as TX, OK, IA & MN. Was in Canada 6 x's and every other state east except NH & VT. You would have a better chance on flatbed or team, as most teams get the longer west coast runs. Good luck.

Do you stay east if you're national refer fleet in the west?

I am starting in the national reefer fleet next week in Texas.

.RYAN Thanks this.

van freight west is not normal. freight rates suck. Roehl never has done much van west. Been asking to go to Phoenix for the last year. Same answer...nothing out that way

In my almost four years here I've delivered or at least been through every state except Arizona.

So maybe look for another company that deals more west?
