LOL... I have done the same thing.... had my team partner with me... and us being females, when owner of vehicle noticed us trying to get into his truck, he smiled and invited us in.... :biggrin_2559: but we apologized 100 times and left quite embarrassed...:biggrin_2552:

Ok.... Although I have been driving for almost 6 yrs now.... I may still be a rookie.... And I don't understand.... What is wrong about trying to pass someone who is going a little bit slower than you on a 4 lane interstate? Since there are two other lanes available, why not? I myself get impatient after a while going behind someone who is going slower than I and I will try to pass them when the left lane is available... specially if there are more lanes.

If there isn't much traffic, then passing a slightly slower truck is fine IMHO. If traffic is heavy I think it's best to simply adjust speed and hang back.

By the way, the correct etiquette if you are being passed by a slightly faster truck is to tap the brakes to disengage cruise control (and also alert the passing driver of your intention), slow down a couple miles an hour, give a nice wave as that trucker passes you, give the high beam flashes in daylight or turn off headlight at nighttime to signal when he/she is clear to come over, and then wait for some space to develop for following distance and resume speed after they come over into the lane. It's easy to do and all you really give up in money is the equivalent of a mouthful of Doritos. You gain better traffic flow around you and ongoing "outs" for any situation that should arise. It's a much better option than building a lot of congestion behind the "dueling governors" that will be impatient and apt to cause problems and potentially accidents in your vicinity as they get "uncorked" and pushing to fight past the idiots in the dueling trucks.

Well you have not got a response yet...I believe that answers your question. I'm guessing her EX co-driver is somewhere in western Nebraska, Kansas or Iowa. We will probably never know though...and the body will probably never be found.

It starts snowing so you chain up at the truck stop, then head out 65 mph down the interstate.

(Saw this happen up in Missoula a few years back, was friking hilarious!)

Ummmm...please tell me that's just one of them tall tales. Anybody that runs a truck chained up at 65 is nuts. 35 max 30 is better.

    Nope. True story.

The start of winter up north it turns into amateur hour in a hurry.

Everyone was laughing at him as we watched him chain up. When he headed for the highway I had to follow and see what happened, he only made it about 5 miles before they came apart on him, was in a C. R. England truck.
