I usually use my galaxy3 hot spot on verizon. I play bf3 and cod games a lot and use the voice chat. I NEVER host. Instant death for my team mates. I really don't use much data when I game and I game for 2-4 hr sessions. The biggest problem is latency because of ping times. I get decent time like 50-120ms but its not match against guys getting 6-12ms on cable internet. So in the surprise shoot outs where we both come around a corner at the same time I usually die. Lol but I usually die anyways but I get a good excuse when I'm on the road.

Have you ever tried pc gaming? I'm a pretty avid gamer myself but I don't bring my Xbox on the road with me simply because it's difficult to find a good enough connection to run Xbox live appropriately. However I used to play WoW a lot on the road and as long as there's a strong open WiFi signal I can't remember having too many problems connecting. Just a suggestion...

...with a laptop of course

I don't usually have a problem with my xbox360 or my xbox one. I use the 4g hotspot on my phone or the 3g wifi card thru my laptop. Not to many issues. Every now and then I have latency issues but not enough to make me give up. Besides I can use it as an excuse as to why I suck at multiplayer. Lol
