Welcome back, Logsy! I'm on E-logs these days, so the computer does all my log thinking for me. No questions at this time.
Did this thread die when I left?

After your
2 hr break, go to the end of the previous break, count out 14 hours, that's when your 14 hour ends.
The driving time from the end of the previous 8 or 10 hour break should be subtracted from 11 and that's how many hours you can "drive" but must complete that driving time by the end of your 14 hr.
8 hr break, go to the end of the previous break 2,8 or 10 and count over 22 hours, thats when your 14 hr ends.
Go to the end of the previous break, total "driving" hours and subtract that from 11, that's how many hours you can drive and must be completed by the end of your 14 hr.
if you take 8.30 minutes in the sleeper, you count over 22.30 hours from the end of the previous break.
You will never have a full 11 hours available to drive however it allows you to complete the remaining of your 11 with less.
It also allows you if your smart, make your 30 minute brk a 2 hr break, work the remaining of your 14 hour window and now you only have to take an 8 hr sleeper break. This means you are still only taking a 10 hour break as to what most are doing now a 10.30 minute break.
Just keeping it basic.
Soon I will have a graph, maybe this weekend! I am working at home fro work but it's on HOS and will be graphs.
I will ty to get to split breaking .vikingswen Thanks this. -

You NEVER get your 11 and 14 back when you split break. You only get what you haven't used since your last break.
In your example, you drove for 4 hours and 45 minutes after your first break. After you took the second break you only had 5 hours and 15 minutes of drive time to work with. (11:00 - 4:45 = 5:15)
You also had 9 hours and 15 minutes of your 14 to work with. (14:00 - 4:45 = 9:15... the 8 hour break does not go against your 14)
Let's say you drive another 2 hours after your 8 hour break and spend 15 minutes fueling. Then you take a two hour break.
When you come back on duty, you'll have whatever drive time you didn't use since your previous break (11:00 - 2:00 = 9:00), and you'll have what is left of your 14 since your previous break (2:00 driving + 0:15 fueling + 2:00 break = 4:15... 14:00 - 4:15 = 9:45 on duty time left)
Just remember that any break less than 8 hours counts against your 14. Any sleeper break of 8 hours or more does not count against your 14.vikingswen Thanks this. -
