I noticed you are out of the Cleveland area and I dont recall Eagle having a terminal up there. Are you assigned to Chicago or Columbus ? And are you an extra board driver or do you have an assigned run or do you run anywhere they want you to ? I do know drivers are leaving the Pittsburg terminal left and right now but thats due to the lack of hours they are getting or so Ive been told. Not a brown-noser, sorry, just doin the job I was hired to do.

OK, so you are completely outside of the company loop living away from one of the terminals. I can see that. But if you look at your paycheck you probably see an hourly pay-rate, probably the Philly rate, and you are paid a set number of hours per run that you do. What I see with Eagle is 1 hour pay for every 50 miles drivin so if you put 500 miles on the truck you get paid 10 hours. The number of hours paid is at least,if not more then the hours you actually work during the day {drive, inspect, fuel.} Extra loads which pop up pay the same # of hours as the regular scheduled runs do. Try doing this, take your gross pay and divide it by the total miles you drive in the 2 week period and figuire out your cents per mile. Still more then haulin freight for company XYZ I bet. There used to be a monthly letter sent out by company with new/updates etc but they stopped doing that a while back. Way to much junk in the newletter anyway.

I did your calculations and came up with .35 mile. $1925.00 divided by 5500 miles.
Now I'm more depressed then before. That's entry level pay for someone fresh out of truck driving school.
What you are saying about the extra runs is correct I know that now, but that wasn't how it was presented to us in the beginning. Don't get me wrong this could be a great job if they get all the bugs worked out and stop lying to potential drivers. When you leave a job to go to another you base your decision on what you are told at the interview. Sometimes its not always about money. You base your decision on whats best for your family and what is a good fit for yourself. -
Could be worse, my "orientation" was a handshake, theres your truck, go to Denver and call us when you get there. Yeah , I would say you are a bit short on the pay thats for sure, how many hours you getting every 2 weeks? should be around 110. If not, start looking around Cleveland, Detroit for the local mail haulin companys, there are a few I used to deal with but cant remember their names

I usually get 12-12 1/2 hrs. a day. Yeah I'm looking for sure. Like I said it's not a bad job hauling mail just this company didn't meet my expectations.

So true, you have to watch out for John Cobb in safety, Eagle don't like paying unemployment, workers comp. I know this I used to worked in safety with Cobb. I worked out of southolland, for almost 24 years. I seen how they treat the drivers they will lie to any employee unless you are good friends with chuck perry, hann, or one of the pals brothers.
Every day when I went to work I was sick to my stomach. Had to leave, I still have many of friends that still works there. Hopefully with the new owners things will change........ -
Just got the annual benefits enrollment package in the mail that we have to fill out each year for Medical,Dental, vision coverage etc. MY JAW DROPPED.
We have 2 options for health insurance for the family. Either $1667 a month for the CHEAP one or $1981 for the upscale. Really ?? Half a months pay to have the REQUIRED company insurance ?? So the drivers which keep this company in business either get $833 taken out of their paycheck or $990 to have family coverage. What a choice. -

Plus we have other changes coming in 2014. Oh boy can't wait. I did see a couple of the new trucks in Chicago. The Christmas bonus was a nice touch.Last edited: Jan 5, 2014
